UOW MALAYSIA KDU 5 UOW Malaysia KDU Excellence Award Scholarship The most prestigious scholarship offered at UOW Malaysia KDU. It provides full tuition waiver and every year, only a few distinguished students are awarded with this scholarship. – Pre-University & Foundation Studies Program – Diploma Program – Degree Program Criteria Value of the Scholarship SPM 9A+s & above O-Level 9A*s & above A-Level ≥ 19pts/AAAB STPM CGPA ≥ 3.75 (3 or 4 subjects) 100% tuition fee waiver for the duration of UEC Agg ≤ 8 (5 subjects) program in UOW Malaysia KDU SAM / AUSMAT ≥ ATAR 90 CPU Agg ≥ 95% IB ≥ 40 Foundation / Diploma ≥ 3.90 Applicants are required to demonstrate outstanding leadership quality, self-motivation and positive attributes, on top of the above academic achievement Notes: 1. This scholarship is based on ACTUAL examination results only. Forecast or trial results will not be accepted. 2. Applicant must be enrolled as a student of UOW Malaysia KDU and pay the full enrolment fee to be eligible to apply for the scholarship. 3. The deadline for scholarship application with submission of all relevant documents is 11 January, 21 May and 6 September 2021 4. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview within one month after the application closing date. All shortlisted candidates are required to attend an interview. Failure to do so, will result in disqualification of application. Only successful candidates will be notified of the outcome after the interview. 5. All fees paid are non-refundable, regardless of the outcome of the scholarship application. 6. Successful recipients are required to maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.66 (or equivalent) throughout their duration of study in order to maintain their scholarship.

The scholarship will be deducted from the 2nd semester onwards if the application is successful. Students will be notified and required to sign a scholarship contract. 4. All fees paid are non-refundable, regardless of the outcome of the scholarship application. 5. Successful recipients are required to maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.00 (or equivalent) throughout their duration of study in order to maintain their scholarship. Driving Dreams Scholarship The Driving Dreams Scholarship is awarded to students who have outstanding sports achievement at State and National levels, or have demonstrated outstanding leadership ability through active participation in co-curricular activities, social services and volunteerism. The award seeks to help students demostrating a strong sporting or leadership capability to drive their dreams. Criteria Value of the Scholarship – Candidates who held leadership roles during their high school as Chairman / President of club / society / school uniform body or Up to 50% waiver on tuition fee for the – National or state sport athletes or duration of the program – Candidate who is a special talent award winner in Malaysia / international competition. Notes: 1. This scholarship is based on ACTUAL examination results only. Forecast or trial results will not be accepted. 2. Applicant must be enrolled as a student of UOW Malaysia KDU and pay the full enrolment fee to be eligible to apply for the scholarship. 3. UOW MALAYSIA KDU 7 Professional Accountancy Scholarship The Professional Accountancy Scholarship is a special arrangement for students who want to excel in the accountancy profession. This scholarship is awarded to students who pursue a Foundation in Accountancy (FIA) / Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) programs at UOW Malaysia KDU College only. Applicant must be enrolled as a student of UOW Malaysia KDU College and pay the full enrolment fee to be eligible to apply for the scholarship. 2. This scholarship is based on trial or actual examination results. 3. For applications using trial examination results, applicants must meet the minimum entry requirements of the program in actual examination results in order to be awarded with the scholarship using trial examination results.
8 SCHOLARSHIPS GUIDE 2021 UOW Malaysia KDU Graduate Research Scholarship The UOW Malaysia KDU Graduate Research scholarship is offered to suitable candidates who are enrolling in postgraduate research programs in UOW Malaysia KDU. Criteria Value of the Scholarship 1. Applicants shall possess a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum CGPA ≥ 3.00 or its equivalent. 2. Must meet all prevailing academic and language requirements. Up to 100% tuition fee waiver for the 3. Must be a full time postgraduate (by Research) student registered at UOW Malaysia minimum candidature period of the program. KDU. 4. The duration of the scholarship is to follow the minimum duration of the program the candidate is enrolled in. 3. Recipients are to assist their school as teaching/research assistants during the duration of their study. 4. Publication of research in International Indexed Journals is required for the recipient: – Master’s degree program - 1 journal publication – PhD program - 3 journal publications 5. Recipients are required to sign an intellectual property agreement with UOW Malaysia KDU.
UOW MALAYSIA KDU 9 Hope Bursary Hope Bursary is awarded to deserving candidates who require financial aid to pursue higher education. Criteria Value of Bursary Students with family income below RM60,000 per annum 50% – 100% waiver on tuition fee Notes: 1. The deadline for bursary application with submission of all relevant documents is 11 January, 21 May and 6 September 2021. 2. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview within 2 weeks after the application closing date. All shortlisted candidates are required to attend an interview. Failure to do so will result in disqualification of application. 3. Only successful candidates will be notified via email within 2 weeks after the interview. Successful applicants must confirm their acceptance of the bursary by registration within 2 weeks, failing which it will be automatically withdrawn. 4. Successful recipients are required to maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.00 (or equivalent) throughout their duration of study in order to maintain their scholarship. 5. This bursary is applicable for Malaysian students only. Discounts In recognition that UOW Malaysia KDU is part of the University of Wollongong global network of institutions, tuition discounts are available for alumni of UOW Malaysia KDU, alumni of UOW programs completed at another UOW campus or partner institution. Family discounts are also available. ALUMNI DISCOUNT – 10% waiver of tuition fees for alumni to continue their studies to bachelor degree after their Pre-University / Foundation Studies Programs / Diploma programs or continue thier postgraduate program after their bachelor degree. – 10% waiver of tuition fees for Alumni’s children to study Pre University / Foundation / Diploma / Bachelor or postgraduate programs. FAMILY DISCOUNT – Applicable for programs: Pre-University & Foundation Studies Programs, Diploma Programs and Bachelor Programs. – 10% waiver on tuition fee for subsequent family member if the first family member has completed, or is still pursuing a program of study, at UOW Malaysia KDU. Notes: 1. The discount is applicable for the year of enrolment 2. Successful recipients are required to maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.75 (or equivalent) throughout their duration of study in order to maintain the discount.
10 SCHOLARSHIPS GUIDE 2021 Vice-Chancellor Scholarship The Vice-Chancellor Scholarship is awarded to current UOW Malaysia KDU students who have consistently delivered outstanding results in their bachelor degree program and demonstrate ambition to positively impact the community and society. Criteria Value of the Scholarship – Current bachelor degree students who achieve CGPA score greater than, or equivalent to 3.75 after one year of study in UOW Malaysia KDU. Up to 100% tuition fee waiver on subsequent – Demonstrate excellent leadership ability, entrepreneurial spirit and other essential semesters of the duration of the program attributes. – Active participation in clubs / societies management, events and activities. Notes: 1. The deadline for scholarship application, with submission of all relevant documents is 30 July 2021. 2. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview within one month after the application closing date. All shortlisted candidates are required to attend an interview. Failure to do so will result in disqualification of the application. Only successful candidates will be notified of the outcome after the interview. 3. Successful recipients are required to maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.66 (or equivalent) throughout their duration of study in order to maintain their scholarship. 4. The scholarship is only valid for the program in which the recipient has enrolled and for the normal duration of study in UOW Malaysia KDU. Vice-Chancellor Merit Award The Vice-Chancellor Merit Award is an award for current UOW Malaysia KDU students in recognition of their academic achievement and professional development. Criteria Value of the Scholarship 1. Current UOW Malaysia KDU students who have accumulated a minimum CGPA of 3.75 in the latest semester after one year of study in UOW Malaysia KDU. One off RM2,000 to off set tuition fee 2. Exhibit strong leadership quality, communication skills, professionalism, and of the next semester enthusiasm – actively involved in clubs/societies management, events and activities. Notes: 1. Deadline for application with submission of all relevant documents, is 30 July 2021. 2. Only successful candidates will be notified of the outcome.
UOW MALAYSIA KDU 11 Terms and Conditions Note: Information given in this booklet is intended as a guide only. While UOW Malaysia KDU will try its best to ensure the information is correct at the time of print, the institution cannot be held responsible for changes / amendments to the information provided in this guide. UOW Malaysia KDU reserves the right to change the contents with or without prior notice. 1. All scholarships, bursaries and discounts offered by UOW Malaysia KDU to any student are at the absolute discretion of the UOW Malaysia KDU Scholarship Committee. 2. The UOW Malaysia KDU Scholarship Committee reserves the right to decide on the number of scholarships and the quantum to be awarded. 3. All scholarships / bursaries / discounts are awarded on a first come, first served basis (where applicable), and is subject to the availability of the quota set in that particular scholarship category. 4. Applicants are entitled to only ONE (1) scholarship / bursary / discount stated in this booklet at any one time, including scholarship from other institutions / bodies. The one with the highest quantum will automatically apply. 5. All academic results must be obtained within one seating in order to be eligible for application for any scholarship / bursary / discount. 6. Recipients must repay the scholarship amount disbursed up to date in the event of withdrawal from the program. 7. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified via email or SMS for an interview (where applicable). Only successful candidates will be notified within one month after the interview. Candidates must confirm their acceptance of the scholarship within two weeks, failing which, it will be automatically withdrawn. 8. Applicants who did not receive any notification for interview or offer within 2 months after the due date of the application may consider their application as unsuccessful. 9. In the event of any dispute on the eligibility of scholarship / bursary / discount, the decision made by the UOW Malaysia KDU Scholarship Committee is final and no appeal will be entertained. 10. The scholarships, bursaries and discounts awarded exclude other fees and charges such as application, registration, resource, assessment and moderation fees to partner university (where applicable), all of which must be borne by the recipient. 11. The total fees for the first semester must be paid in full. The scholarships, bursaries and discounts (where applicable) will be offset from the second semester onwards, on pro-rated basis. 12. The scholarships, bursaries and discounts awarded are not exchangeable for cash or any other alternatives. 13. All scholarships, bursaries and discounts are not applicable for English Language programs, part-time programs and short courses which are less than one year of duration. 14. Recipients are required to maintain a minimum CGPA set by the UOW Malaysia KDU Scholarship Committee throughout the academic year, in order to enjoy the scholarship / bursary / discount. Failure to meet such academic requirement every semester may result in the scholarship / bursary / discount being terminated. 15. Where applicable, scholarship / bursary / discount recipients will be required to sign an agreement accepting the terms and conditions of the scholarship. 16. All scholarship recipients who receive a scholarship / bursary / discount value of >30% of the tuition fee are required to undergo a Scholars Development Program of 50 hours per semester during the duration of their scholarship, which includes working with different departments within UOW Malaysia KDU for enhanced exposure, acting as an Ambassador of UOW Malaysia KDU at various events, attending leadership development programs etc, in order to continue their scholarship in subsequent semester(s). 17. All scholarships and bursaries are applicable for the duration of the program offered at UOW Malaysia KDU only and are not applicable for the period af study at overseas partner universities. 18. Scholarship recipients who fail to comply with all the terms and conditions of the scholarship will be required to repay the total scholarship amount disbursed to him/her. 19. Scholarship / bursary / discount will normally be deducted from the 2nd semester onwards if application is successful. 20. Scholarship is only applicable for the program that the student is enrolled in at the point when the scholarship contract is signed. It will be terminated if the student changes his/her program of study.
