HOMILY                             Father Michael G. Ryan
PROFESSION OF FAITH During Easter Time, we pray the Apostles' Creed
		                 I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth,
		                 and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
		                       [ALL BOW]
		                       who was conceived by the Holy Spirity
		                       born of the Virgin Mary,
		                       [ALL STAND UPRIGHT]
		                       suffered under Pontius Pilate,
		                       was crucified, died, and was buried;
		                       he descended into hell;
		                       on the third day he rose again from the dead;
		                       he ascended in to heaven,
		                       and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty;
		                       from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
		                       I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church,
		                       the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,
		                       the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Contemplative Prayer
with music from Taizé

                           Friday, May 6, 2022
                                      6:30pm
                            St. James Cathedral
                Living God, at times we are
                strangers on the earth, disconcerted
                by the violence, the harsh
                oppositions. Transfigure the deserts
                of our doubts and so prepare us to
                be bearers of reconciliation
                wherever you place us, until a hope
                of peace arises in our world.
                                 Brother Alois of Taizé

                On the first Friday of each
                month, all are welcome to a
                contemplative prayer in the
                Cathedral, with song, silence,
                and candlelight. The service
                includes the meditative chants
                of the ecumenical Taizé
                community in France, founded
                by Brother Roger Schutz as a
                sign of reconciliation after World
                War II.
