Foreword...
It seems hard to believe that 55 years ago this May, the very first Monarch water
softener was sold. My father, the founder of Monarch Water, had the foresight to
install a softener to protect a steam boiler. At that time, water softener sales were

HOW IT WORKS
Water contains two main types of hardness ions that cause scale.
