HOW TO MEASURE SINGLE ROLLER BLINDS FABRIC ROLL DIRECTION ROLLED TO ROLLED TO FRONT BACK (OVER ROLL) (UNDER ROLL) All fabrics as standard, are rolled to the back. Please note that all Blockout fabrics have a white backing with the exception of Vibe & Le Reve that have a colour coordinated backing. The backing on these fabrics will be visible wrapped around the tube at the top of the blind when ordered as back rolled. It is recommended that roller blinds ordered with a white backing be ordered front rolled. Outside mounting blinds, rolling to back is recommended so fabric sits closer to architrave/wall, minimising light gaps. Some inside mount applications may require more clearance due to window locks and other obstructions that protrude from the window, having the fabric direction rolled to the front may be necessary. Corner windows must be rolled to the front with either mount to avoid a large gap where the two blinds meet. HOW TO MEASURE DOUBLE ROLLER BLINDS The fabric roll direction of the front blind must be rolled to the front. The fabric roll direction of the rear/back blind must be rolled to the back. Please note that all Blockout fabrics have a white backing with the exception of Vibe & Le Reve that have a colour coordinated backing. The backing on these fabrics will be visible wrapped around the tube at the top of the blind when ordered as back rolled. It is recommended that roller blinds ordered with these fabrics be ordered as front rolled. If the window frame depth is smaller than 120mm, it is suggested to mount two single blinds on the window; a light filter/sunscreen that is mounted on the inside and a blockout which is outside mounted. If this option is preferred please refer to the single blind order form and complete as two separate blinds. If the double brackets are used on a smaller depth frame the blind will protrude into the room. For outside mounted blinds using double brackets rolling the front blind fabric to the back is recommended. This allows the fabric to sit closer to the wall, leaving less gap. HOW TO INSTALL DOUBLE ROLLER BLINDS INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS RECESS MOUNT RECESS MOUNT STEP 1 - CHECK MEASUREMENTSFACE MOUNT FACE MOUNT It is important to securely attach the brackets to the mounting surface. To achieve this the included screws must secure into wood studs, otherwise a fastener is required for secure mounting (not included). Make sure the fastener you purchase is suitable for the weight of the product. If you are unsure, please contact Quicksew so we can suggest the correct fastener. STEP 2 - BRACKETS There are two brackets provided per blind. One bracket is the Chain Drive bracket and the other is the Pin End Bracket. If you have ordered your controls at opposite sides, then the brackets will be a combination of a pin and chain end on the one bracket. The Chain drive bracket FACE MOUNT FACE MOUNT goes to the side that has the operating chain. RECESS MOUNT RECESS MOUNT Pin (Idle) End Chain (Drive) End STEP 3 - BRACKET MOUNTING Face Mount: Position the brackets at each end flush with the window frame and screw into place, using two screws per bracket. The chain drive bracket will go to the side you have allocated to have the control chain. Recess Mount: Position the bracket as far back in the recess as possible. If you have limited depth, then mount the bracket forward in the recess as shown, this will result in the blind protruding out of the recess. Should a different size wand be required, please note this on the order form • All Vertical Blinds when initially installed will appear slightly shorter than required due to being tightly packed for delivery, however the blind will drop when the fabric settles (approx. 2 weeks) A A A A A A B B B BB INSIDE MOUNTING OUTSIDE MOUNTING OUTSIDE MOUNTING For width ‘A’, measure inside the window frame (With architraves) (With no architraves) from one edge to the other in 2 places (please For width ‘A’, measure from one edge of For width ‘A’, measure the opening of the record smallest measurementFixing on thePoints order the architrave to the other and add 200mm window and add 200mm to provide an form) to provide a blade overlap of approx. overlap of approx. 100mm each side. 100mm each side for privacy For Drop ‘B’, measure inside the window frame For drop ‘B’, measure inside the window frame from one edge to the other on both the right For drop ‘B’, measure from one edge of the from one edge to the other in the centre. HOW TO INSTALL VERTICAL BLINDS INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS STEP 1 - CHECK MEASUREMENTS Face Fix Measure the width from the outer edge of the architrave to the opposite edge. Measure the drop from the top of the architrave to where you want the blind to finish. We recommend 10mm off the floor and 50-100mm below the frame. We recommend that you take the track past the architrave each side. This will give more privacy and better light control. The distance you take the track is entirely optional. We highly recommend that you add at least 60-100mm. Make sure that you don’t have any obstructions. Recess Fix Measure the width from the inside of the window frame from left sideFace to right side. Making sure Fix Bracket to measure Recess at the top of the reveal Fit Bracket and not the bottom of the window, as this is where the track will be mounted. Measure the drop from the top of the inside recess to the base of the inside sill. Measure in 3 places Left, Centre and Right and take the smallest of the three measurements. Depth Required: You will need a depth of 135mm for the blind to fit neatly inside the recess for 127mm slats and 97mm depth for 89mm slats. Minimum depth required for both slat sizes is 50mm. This will result in the blind slightly protruding out of the recess but will not detract from the product. Important: Do not make any deductions as our factory will do this to ensure a perfect fit. Face Fix Bracket Recess Fit Bracket STEP 2 - BRACKETS The amount of brackets supplied will vary depending on the width of the track. Face Face Fix Mount Fix Bracket Bracket Recess Fit Bracket Recess Fix Bracket STEP 3 - MOUNTING THE BRACKETS Mark out the positions for the brackets at the desired even distance. If fitting the blind to the architraves (face fix) and the track has an overhang that goes past the window frame, put the end brackets level with the edge of the architrave. For recessed mounts or face mounts without the overhang, then position the end brackets at least 100mm’s in from the end. Evenly space the brackets along the window frame. For Face Fix, make sure to use the central screw hole on the bracket, this will then give you flexibility to be able to adjust the blind up and down easily to the desired height, without having Face Fix Mount Bracket Recess Fix Bracket to reposition the screw. STEP 4 - HANGING THE TRACK ont lip Take the Vertical track and starting with the central bracket, hook the front of track the track into the forward lip of the bracket. Making sure the track is centre to the window. Now just click the track into place by rotating the back of the track up into the rear of the bracket. You should hear it click into place. Face Fix Mount Bracket Recess Fix Bracket Repeat for each bracket. POSITION OF BRACKET Hook to front lip ON TRACK on top of track STEP 5 - HANGING THE SLATS Rotate track carriers so the hooks face to one end of the track. Spread the carriers out by drawing the wand. Gently unroll slats and hook onto carriers working from one end of the track to the other. Do Not hang whilst carriers are rotated to the flush position to the track. This will cause the slats to not rotate and jam. If your track has a centre opening and chained POSITION OF BRACKET Hook to front lip weights. Attach Child Safety Cord Cleat where required to prevent tangling or child strangulation. CHILD SAFETY CORD CLEAT 2A 1 2 2B 3 WARNING To avoid creating a possible strangulation hazard for children, the corded internal window covering must be installed in such a way that loose cord or ball chain cannot form a loop 220mm or longer as measured along the perimeter of the cord. It should be secured at a height of more than 1600mm above floor level to ensure child safety. A cord or ball chain guide may be installed lower than 1600mm above floor level, if the cord or ball chain is sufficiently secured or tensioned to prevent a loop of 220mm or longer being formed. If the cord or ball chain guide is installed lower than 1600mm above floor level, it must be installed so as to: A. prevent a child from being able to remove the cord or ball chain and; B. prevent a loop of 220mm or longer from being formed. If a cleat is used to secure the cord or ball chain, it must be at least 1600mm above floor level because a child is capable of unwinding cord or ball chain from a cleat. Page 20
