Commercial Burglaries: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information None Reported: Tips: ❖ Do not display valuable items in windows when closed for business ❖ Contact the Southfield Police Crime Prevention Bureau for a free security inspection (248) 796-5409 Home Invasion: Date/Time Address (block range) Method of Entry Description/Suspect Information From: 07/26/2021 19000 Melrose Ave. No forced entry R/P states he rents his home out and had a neighbor 4:00pm was noted. kid that lives in a nearby group home help him clean To: 07/27/2021 up his house. After they finished, R/P paid the young 3:30pm man and they left the residence. Sometime after they left the residence on 07/26/2021 4:00pm and the following day at 3:30pm someone entered the home and took the hot water tank which was by the back door. There were no signs of forced entry. R/P suspects the young man that helped him left the back door unlocked and came back and took the hot water tank.
07/30/2021 23000 Providence Dr. Attempted to kick On 07/30/2021, Officers were dispatched to a 7:26am (Apartments) apartment door Domestic Disturbance in the 23000 Block of in. Providence Dr. (Apartments). The R/P was reporting that her child's father was banging on her door and that he had possibly pointed (Arrest- Attempted a gun at her through the door. Home Invasion, Information was given that the subject was wearing a Domestic Violence, Detroit Pistons Jersey. Officer observed subject MDOP & matching that description in the parking lot walking Resisting and towards 9 Mile Rd. As other units arrived on scene the Obstructing.) subject was now running E/B on 9 Mile Rd. Officer observed subject and gave him verbal commands to stop running. He complied and stopped running. Officers questioned subject and he denied any wrong doing. R/P advised that suspect showed up at her apartment this morning at 7:00am. He was knocking on her door and asking to come in. R/P denied him entry and stated when she looked out her peephole, she thought the suspect was holding a handgun up to the door. The suspect was yelling through the door "open the door" and threatened to harm her. After she told him again that she was not going to open the door, he kicked the door once attempting to break it in (causing damage). He then yelled "I got something for you" and ran downstairs out of the back of the building. R/P witnessed subject keying her mother’s car and her personal car in the parking lot. Officers confirmed damage to R/P’s apartment door, damage to R/P’s vehicle and damage to R/P’s mother vehicle. A Southfield Police Evidence Tech. took photos
of MDOP’s. Officers took suspect into custody for: Attempted Home Invasion, Domestic Violence, and MDOP. The suspect was combative with Officers in the Southfield Lockup and was additionally charged with Resisting and Obstructing. 07/31/2021 22000 Nottingham Ln. Door leading into Officers were dispatched to Family Trouble in the 6:46pm (Apartments) residence from 22000 Block of Nottingham. the interior of the R/P advised she was just assaulted by her garage was forced stepdaughter. After the assault, the stepdaughter open. went outside into the garage. R/P shut the garage door leading into the house and locked it. The stepdaughter forced entry into the house and assaulted R/P again. R/P had obvious injuries to her forehead and scratches on her arm. The stepdaughter left the scene prior to Officers arrival. SPD Evidence Tech took photos of victim’s injuries and damage to the garage door. Suspect has been identified and investigation is on- going.
From: 07/30/2021 23000 Churches St. Rear door wall Victim states someone broke into her home through 7:30pm was forced open. the rear door wall. The incident occurred sometime on To: 07/30/2021 07/30/2021 between 7:30pm- 10:32pm. 10:32pm The home was ransacked and several items were damaged including her dining room table and two TV’s. There were also several items missing from the residence: No suspect information. Automobile Thefts: Date/Time Address (block range) Year, Make, Model Details Status 07/26/2021 24000 Telegraph Rd I - Information Only The assistant branch manager for Leasing 9:25am (Commercial- Car Rental) Manufacturer Company advised that the vehicle was returned DODGE Model to their lot sometime between Saturday DURANGO Color 07/24/2021 at 12:00pm and Monday 07/26/2021 WHI - White Vehicle Year at 9:00am. The vehicle's keys were placed in the 2020 Body Style State drop box. Madison Heights PD was advised the MI vehicle was recovered. No suspect information. Description 2020 DODGE DURANGO Status 07/26/2021 23000 Providence Dr. R – Recovered Stolen On 07/26/2021 5:46pm, Officer located a stolen 5:46pm (Office Complex) Manufacturer vehicle in the parking lot in the 23000 block of MAZDA Model Providence Dr. The stolen vehicle is a Silver 2020 CX-5 Color Mazda CX-5, stolen out of Van Buren Township. SIL - Silver or Aluminum Officer observed 2- B/M’s enter the vehicle and Vehicle Year the vehicle started up. Officer attempted to 2020 Body Style make a traffic stop on the vehicle and it fled. 4D - 4 Door State During the pursuit of vehicle, the driver opened MI his driver’s door and appeared that he was going License Year 2021 to bail on foot. When the vehicle was stopped Description Silver Mazda CX-5 the driver again attempted to open the driver’s Recovered Date/Time 07/26/2021 6:00pm door. Officer had positioned his vehicle so the driver couldn’t exit the driver’s door. He was extracted from the vehicle by Officers and taken into custody for Fleeing & Eluding, R&C Motor Vehicle & DWLS. The passenger (Juvenile) in the vehicle was later released to his parents. Investigation is on-going.
Status 07/30/2021 23000 Providence Dr. E - Evidence On 07/30/2021 Officers were on patrol, when 12:03am (Apartments) Description they observed a Black 2017 Dodge Challenger Michigan White & Blue Plate Scat Pack parked outside in the 23000 Block of Providence Dr. (Apartments). The vehicle was backed up against the fence and white bricks, blocking the plate. Officers located the license plate and it returned to no registered vehicles or owners. A LEIN check of the VIN number on the dash returned as stolen out of Wayne on 05/04/2021. The vehicle was recovered and Wayne PD was notified of the recovery.
Status From: 07/26/2021 27000 Devonshire St. S - Stolen R/P advises his vehicle was last seen on the 12:30am Manufacturer DODGE driveway at the residence on 07/26/2021 at To: 07/26/2021 Model approx. 12:30am. It was discovered missing on CHALLENGER 4:30am Color the same day at approx. 4:30am. BLU - Blue Vehicle Year R/P contacted Uconnect directly to track the 2020 Body Style State vehicle and was advised to contact Southfield MI Police for a theft report, prior to tracking the Description 2020 DODGE vehicle. No further information was provided at CHALLENGER time of report. No suspect information. Notes Indigo Blue Tinted Windows Rockford Fosgate Sound System Inside Status From: 07/28/2021 21000 Sherman Ave. S - Stolen R/P last saw his motorcycle on 07/28/2021 5:30am (Condo’s) Manufacturer around 5:30am when he left for work. It SUZUKI To: 07/28/2021 Color was parked under his carport along the north BLK - Black 4:00pm Vehicle Year side of the complex. When R/P returned home 2002 Body Style State from work around 4:00pm he discovered the MI Description motorcycle was missing. Black Suzuki Motorcycle No suspect information.
Status From: 07/29/2021 26000 Telegraph Rd. SR - Both Stolen and Victim states her Red Mercedes GLS, sustained 6:15pm (Commercial- Car Rental) Recovered unknown damage during the recent flooding. Manufacturer To: 07/29/2021 MERCEDES BENZ She had the vehicle in for service and after Model 6:45pm GLS picking it up discovered it needed further service. Color RED - Red While waiting for the tow truck to show up, a Vehicle Year Dark Blue & Black Tow Truck showed up with two 2021 Body Style W/M occupants. She described one of them as SW - Station Wagon State having a handgun on his hip. They asked her if MI she called for a tow and she said yes. They took License Year 2021 down her information from her Driver’s License Recovered Recovered Date/Time and gave her a form to sign. They then loaded 07/30/2021 1:25pm the vehicle onto their flatbed tow truck and left. Location 28000 Block of Telegraph She also gave them the keys for the vehicle. Rd. Later, victim received a call from a male from another towing service letting her know he could not find her vehicle. R/P called the towing service that she originally called back and confirmed the towing company that took her vehicle was not sent by them. Status From: 08/01/2021 24000 Pierce St. S - Stolen Victim states he spent the night at his brother’s 2:30pm Manufacturer CHEVROLET house in the 24000 Block of Pierce. He parked his To: 08/01/2021 Model 2016 White Chevy Equinox in the driveway on EQUINOX 10:00am Color 08/01/2021 at 2:30am. He discovered the vehicle WHI - White Vehicle Year missing later that morning at 10:00am. 2016 Body Style State Victim left the car unlocked in the driveway, with MI a spare key to the car inside a book bag in the Description WHITE 2016 passenger seat. Also inside the book bag was an CHEVROLET EQUINOX undisclosed amount of cash, a Samsung Galaxy Smart Phone, Samsung ear buds, and a credit card. Larceny: Date/Time Address (block range) Item Taken Details Status From: 07/27/2021 29000 Tiffany Dr. W S - Stolen Victim states he received an email stating his 12:44pm (Apartments) Description package was delivered on July 27, 2021 around Croc shoes and Croc charms To: 07/27/2021 were taken. 12:44pm. When victim went to get his package, it 3:17pm was not there. Victims Ring Doorbell camera captured a B/M, 5'-7” – 6’-0”, 150 - 170Lbs, medium complexion, black beanie cap, shoulder length dreadlocks, white t-shirt and black shorts leave at 3:17pm holding his package. The suspect is then seen entering the driver’s side of a White 2008 Chrysler Pacifica. The package contained victims shoe accessories that he had purchased. Officer reviewed video and noted the following regarding the suspect vehicle: The Pacifica had a dent on the rear driver side lift gate. Possibly a damaged rear window windshield wiper and black trim on the rear bumper. There was a Michigan license plate on the suspect vehicle.
Status From: 07/28/2021 21000 W Ten Mile Rd. S - Stolen R/P works at the college campus located in the 6:50am (College Campus) Description 21000 Block of Ten Mile Rd. He parked his White Catalytic Converter was Taken To: 07/28/2021 From 2009 Ford Escape 2009 Ford Escape on July 28th at 6:50am in the 3:30pm east housing lot off Northwestern Hwy. R/P returned to his vehicle around 3:30pm and discovered his catalytic converter had been cut off the exhaust system. R/P reported it to Campus Security. They have video of the incident. Detectives contacted Security and reviewed surveillance video. On 08/02/2021, a Silver Chevrolet Malibu with a Michigan license plate is seen entering the parking lot and parking directly next to victims Ford Escape. The vehicle is occupied by two suspects. At 9:56am, the front passenger is seen exiting the Malibu and crouching down low between the Escape and Malibu. A few moments later, the front passenger is seen getting up and getting back into the Malibu. This is when it was likely the catalytic converter was cut and stolen. The front passenger was seen wearing a white shirt. The driver did not exit the Malibu but was seen on surveillance footage wearing a green hat & glasses. No further description.
Status From: 07/28/2021 24000 W Twelve Mile S - Stolen Victim states he was in the 24000 Block of 12 6:45pm (Commercial Bar) Description Mile Rd. on 07/28/2021. Handgun To: 07/28/2021 Sometime between 6:45pm- 7:00pm someone 7:00pm entered his unlocked 2007 Chevy Impala and stole his handgun that was in the trunk of the vehicle. No suspect information. Status 07/30/2021 27000 Franklin Rd. S - Stolen R/P states he bought and registered a handgun 12:00pm (Apartments) Description for his wife in the State of Alabama. His wife left Handgun the handgun in the glove box of her 2017 Chevy Malibu. Sometime between 07/01/2021- 07/25/2021 someone stole the handgun. R/P did not have any paperwork or the serial # for the handgun so it couldn’t be entered as stolen. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Citizens should never leave their handgun(s) in the interior of their vehicles. Status From: 07/28/2021 23000 Greenfield S - Stolen Victim arrived for her shift at her work place in 5:00pm (Fast Food) Description the 23000 Block of Greenfield Rd. on 07/28/2021 Money Stolen from Employee’s To: 07/28/2021 Purse. at approx. 5:00pm. Instead of leaving her purse 7:28pm in the office like she normally does, she left it in a common area on top of a printer. At approx. 7:30pm during her shift she went to her purse to retrieve money and realized an undisclosed amount of cash had been taken from her purse. Victim immediately notified her manager. The manager reviewed their surveillance video and stated there were two people near her purse. The manager was going to interview all the employee’s that were working during the time of theft. No further information at time of report. Investigation is on-going. Status 07/29/2021 25000 Grodan Dr. AS – Attempt Stolen R/P states on 07/29/2021 at approx. 10:30am he 10:30am (Apartments) Description heard a car alarm going off. He looked outside Attempt to take Catalytic Converter from 2004 Pontiac and saw a Silver Colored Hatchback Type Vehicle Bonneville. parked next to his Pontiac Bonneville. He observed a B/M with low cut hair that was balding in the back. He entered the suspect vehicle and fled the area. When R/P went out to his vehicle he discovered that there were cut marks in his exhaust where the suspect attempted to take his Catalytic Converter. Attempt only.
Status From: 07/29/2021 23000 W Eight Mile SR - Both Stolen and Recovered On 07/29/2021, Officers were dispatched to the 12:20am (Commercial Building) Count 23000 Block of W Eight Mile Rd. (Commercial 3 To: 07/29/2021 Description Building), for a LFA. The R/P reported unknown Batteries 12:30am Recovered Date/Time B/M stole batteries from vehicles parked in the 07/29/2021 9:15am company lot at approx. 12:30am on 07/29/2021. The suspect was at a battery store in Detroit attempting to sell the batteries to the store. The store manager knew the batteries were from business in Southfield because they service their vehicles. The batteries were tested and showed results of full voltage which is unusual because individuals usually only turn in dead batteries. Officers located the suspect at the Battery Store and took him into custody for LFA. The 3 stolen batteries were recovered. Tips: ❖ Ensure your vehicle is locked always and valuables are out of sight. ❖ Thieves wait for the right time and will move quickly ❖ Even if playing sports at a park ensure your vehicle is locked
Armed Robbery: Date/Time Address (block range) Item Taken Details Status 07/28/2021 26000 Summerdale Dr. S - Stolen Victim (Courier Driver) advises she arrived near 4:46pm (Condo’s) Description the 29000 Block of Tiffany Dr. E (Condo’s) and Cell Phone scanned the package listed for that address. The package was a cell phone. The address did not exist so the package was not delivered. Victim continued to make her deliveries in the complex and arrived in the 26000 Block of Summerdale around 4:46pm. Returning to her work truck from delivering the package she was confronted by a B/M, mid/late 20s, 5'7, medium build with a baseball hat holding a silver semi- auto hand gun. He requested the package that R/P had just attempted to deliver. Victim got the package out of the van and handed it to the male. He left in an unknown direction on foot. Victim stated she called her supervisor as she was leaving the area. She was advised to file a report at the station. When asked why didn't she call 911? She replied, she wasn't directed to? Status 07/28/2021 23000 Greenfield Rd. S - Stolen On 07/28/2021, Officers were dispatched to the 4:33pm (Office Building) Description 23000 Block of Greenfield Rd. (Office Building) Watch >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> for an Armed Robbery that had just occurred. Status S - Stolen Officers arrived on scene and the victim was Description House, Vehicle and Business located. The victim stated he entered his vehicle Keys Stolen (Lexus ES) that was parked on the east side of the building. He put his vehicle into reverse and began backing up. As soon as he started to back up, a Silver Pickup Truck pulled behind him blocking him in. The passenger, a B/M thin build, approx. 5'-9" wearing a black ski mask, white t-shirt and black shorts exited the truck and came to the driver’s door and opened it. He pointed the handgun at victim and demanded victims watch and keys. Victim handed over his keys and watch. The suspect got back into the Silver Pick Up Truck and fled the area. The suspect vehicle may be a Dodge Ram P.U.
Status 08/01/2021 24000 Northwestern S - Stolen Victim states she was in the shower when she 9:31am (Hotel) Manufacturer heard her female friend scream, "he's got a gun". iPhone Model The suspect opened the bathroom door, reached 8 plus into the bathroom and grabbed her iPhone 8 plus that was sitting on the counter in the bathroom. Victim states once the suspect left, she ran to the window and saw the suspect get into a Silver 4- Dr. Cadillac ATS. The other female that was in the room stated a suspect entered their hotel room and pulled a gun on her. This female believed that the suspect was trying to rob them. The suspect ran from the room to the south door exit and went to his vehicle in the parking lot. He was last seen S/B on Northwestern Service Dr. It was later learned that the other female that was in the room was waiting for a male friend to arrive. It’s believed and supported by video surveillance that besides the suspect that took victims cell phone there were two other males that entered the victim’s hotel room. Officers advised the two females what was seen. Both admitted to being prostitutes. The males were identified as customers, but could not provide any further information. Tips: ❖ Always be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious incidents or persons to your local police. ❖ If something doesn’t appear right or someone looks like they are up to no good, call the police immediately ❖ Trust your intuition

Be on the Look Out Highlights: Arrests by SPD Officers: Special Attention: OWI= Operate While Impaired Pedestrian Fatal Crash OUIN= Operate Under Influence Narcotics 07/26/2021 12:44am LFA= Larceny from Auto Telegraph Rd. N/of 9 Mile Rd. R&C= Receiving & Concealing Stolen Property Officers responded to N/B Telegraph Rd., N/ of Nine DWLS= Driving with Suspended License Mile Rd. for a car vs. pedestrian crash. Officers located A&B= Assault & Battery the male victim who was unresponsive and not CSC= Criminal Sexual Conduct breathing. CPR initiated. Officers recognized the victim CCW/CPL= Carrying Concealed Weapon as a subject that often walks in the roadway. NOLOP= No Operator License on Person Traffic Safety Bureau Investigator was contacted and R/A= Robbery Armed responded to the scene. Alcohol is not believed to be a RNA= Robbery Not Armed factor in this crash relative to the driver. The victim was PWID= Possession with Intent to Deliver pronounced deceased on scene by FD. PPO= Personal Protection Order PBT= Preliminary Breath Test R/P= Reporting Party VCSA= Violation Controlled Substance Act Special Attention: Fleeing & Eluding 07/29/2021 5:24pm N/B M-10 & Evergreen Rd. Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on an Orange 2012 Dodge Challenger w/ heavy tinted windows. The vehicle was in LEIN as stolen out Detroit. The vehicle fled from Officers at excessive speeds. The pursuit was terminated as the vehicle continued to flee w/b on I-696 from N/B M-10. Vehicle entered in LEIN as wanted. Note: Vehicle appears to be a 2018-2020 model. No suspect information.
Special Attention: Fleeing & Eluding CCW/ 2- Counts- 1- Arrest 07/27/2021 3:04pm 07/26/2021 5:19pm Telegraph Rd. & Swanson Rd. Northwestern Hwy. & W Nine Mile Rd. Officer was on patrol near 12 Mile Rd. and Telegraph Rd. On 07/26/2021 Officer stopped vehicle after receiving at a red traffic signal. The traffic signal turned green and Information from LEIN stating the vehicle registration expired vehicles began to pull forward. 05/06/2020 and the electronic verification for insurance stated "N" Officer observed a Green Saturn Ion traveling at a high for no insurance. rate of speed south on Telegraph Road at 12 Mile Road. The vehicle was stopped and contact was made with the driver. (Apartments) (College Campus) On July 28, 2021 at approx. 9:57am, Officer located a stolen Black Catalytic Converter was Taken From 2009 Ford Escape. Dodge Durango parked in the rear parking lot of Apartment On 08/02/2021, a Silver Chevrolet Malibu with a Complex in the 23000 Block of Providence Dr. The vehicle was Michigan license plate was seen entering the parking lot reported stolen out of Detroit on 03/04/2021. and parking directly next to victims Ford Escape. The vehicle began fleeing from Officers after the felonious assault with a motor vehicle. During the pursuit, Officer disabled the vehicle with a P.I.T. maneuver. The suspect exited the vehicle and fled on foot from Officers. Officer deployed his taser which was effective in stopping the subject while he was in the rear yard of residence in the 19000 Block of Ashton. Additional Officers arrived and secured the suspect.

Assault GBH/ Domestic A&B/ Violation of Injunctive Order- 1- Arrest 07/28/2021 2:20pm 29000 Block of Pointe O Woods Pl. (Apartments) Officers responded on a male whom assaulted a female, forced her into her own car, and fled the scene. The male and female ended up at an area hospital. It was determined the female was stabbed by the male at some point. The male fled from the hospital on foot and was located a short distance away and taken into custody by Officers. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The male was also in violation of an Injunctive Order through the 6th Circuit Court where the female is the protected party. Detectives & Officers located the victim’s vehicle in the parking lot at the hospital. It was towed to SPD Processing Garage. There was evidence of blood inside the vehicle.
