Attendance Expected attendance is 96% • If students have an attendance figure below 94% we will not be allowed to let them out on visits/sporting fixtures. • All students are rewarded for 100% attendance; weekly, termly and annually.
Attendance • There is a clear relationship between attendance and achievement. • 90% attendance = 1⁄2 day missed every week • Over a school year this is 4 weeks –100 lessons lost • Over 5 years at 90% this is half a year (95 days or 475 lessons) of education. 17 missed school days means that you could drop a whole GCSE grade in all subjects. • The greater the attendance the greater the achievement.
Uniform guidelines We are moving to strict uniform rules. Students should be correctly dressed on the way into the Academy and on the way out, including ties and blazers on and LPA school bags. • Tailored trousers for girls and boys. • Earrings (other than one stud in each ear), rings, bracelets or smart watches should not be worn- they will be confiscated at Form Time by Form Tutors. • Blazer sleeves are not allowed to be rolled up. • Coats are NOT to be put on until students leave the building. • Students MUST wear the correct uniform, unless they have a note from their doctor explaining why they cannot wear the uniform. Notes from parents will not be accepted. • Students who do not wear the correct uniform will receive a same day detention 3- 3:30pm with Year Managers.
