Celibacy Formation Monk’s book offers model for seminaries, religious communities crisis in the Catholic Church, including the lack of celibacy formation in the seminary. Not long after Br. John Mark joined the monastery, the leadership in the Seminary and School of Theology sought his help to strengthen its program for celibacy formation. The depth and breadth of the offerings increased. Learning about celibacy and related topics was incorporated into each year of priesthood study. As Br. Distinguished Alumnus Mike Ziemianski served Saint Meinrad, his community, his parish When the Saint Meinrad Distinguished Alumnus Award is given posthumously to Michael Ziemianski this August, it’s almost guaranteed that the speaker introducing the award winner will use the word “service.” Ziemianski had a distinguished career at Saint Meinrad. A 1987 graduate of Saint Meinrad College, he worked at Mercy Academy in Louisville, KY, providing retreat experiences for students. By 1989, he was back at Saint Meinrad working in the Development Office.
