FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Do I need a passport? A passport book is required for travel to both Uganda and Rwanda. Your passport must be valid for 6 months after your arrival date and have at least 2 blank pages. Do I need a visa? US citizens are required to have tourist visas for both Uganda and Rwanda. If you are not a US citizen, check for your country requirements. Uganda allows travelers to apply for an e-visa online: https://visas.immigration.go.ug/#/. There are several single and multiple entry types available, ranging in price from $50-$200 USD. Rwanda has several single and multiple entry tourist visas, which are available online: https://rwandaembassy.org/consular/classes- of-visa. Costs range from $30-$100 USD. The East African tourist visa (EAV) allows multiple entry into Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya for 90 days and costs $100. The EAV tourist application must be made in the country where your travel will begin. We recommend the EAV for ease and practical reasons. Do I need any vaccinations? Yes, proof of yellow fever vaccination is required for travel to Uganda. There is limited availability of the vaccine in the US, so plan in advance. The vaccine costs $200-$300 in the US, but may be as cheap as $20 or free in Mexico and Caribbean countries. Check the CDC Website for more information about required and recommended vaccines and anti-malarial medications: https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/uganda https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/rwanda
