Event 1 – Insight into Army Careers KS4 Event Details: WATCH VIDEO Nurse. Bio-Medical Scientist. Chef. Cyber Engineer. Musician. HR Specialist. Tank Crewman. With over 76 entry level specialisms, the range of careers in the British Army might surprise you. BOOK YOUR PLACE In each one of these roles there are opportunities to gain qualifications – with 98% of new soldiers starting an apprenticeship. Our Join us for a whistle stop tour of Army Careers to celebrate National new video takes you on a tour of roles across Careers Week. This virtual event is for students and teachers interested in the Army’s seven career streams, and is finding out more about Army opportunities; no previous knowledge perfect to show students this National Careers required. We’ll also be looking at the qualifications on offer including Week. apprenticeships and degrees, as well as the Army Foundation College, Harrogate. Our online Role Finder is a useful tool to explore all entry level roles in the Army, filtering by interests and aspirations. Discover how an Army career can set you up with skills and qualifications for life.
Event 4 - Twilight Career Talks KS4 With National Careers Week coming up, we're excited to announce a new series of twilight careers talks, covering a wide range of jobs. The talks will offer Yr11 students the opportunity to speak with expert university staff, as well as current students, to help them plan their future career. You are welcome to attend more than one session. INSTRUCTIONS Event 5 - Explore and Meet KS4 Academic taster in Economics Tues 2nd March 4.15- 5.00pm This webinar will look at what it is like to study Economics at degree level. It is an interactive and engaging webinar where we will cover subject specific information, future career pathways and personal student journey stories. Event 7 – Chat with a graduate KS4 Chat with a graduate as part of national careers week - Thursday 4th March, 4:30-5:30pm This Employer Engagement event will give students an opportunity to develop their understanding of what their future career could look like as well get the opportunity to hear how former Aston graduates were able to earn their current positions. Our careers team will also be delivering a small talk to highlight what key skills you need and how they can help you develop them. We will finish with a panel style Q&A, to give everyone the opportunity to ask any Book your place here. questions they may have.
Event 8 – Language Taster Session KS4 Languages Taster Session - Friday 5th March, 1-2pm Interested in languages? Intercultural skills? Want to know where this can take you? By attending this virtual taster session you will be able to see what life is like at University, what it's like to be a languages student, and see the global future it can give you. Event 8 – ACM After School Club KS3 & KS4 The ACM after school club. These are live sessions on youtube on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 16:30pm. All year groups are welcome to join these sessions. Event 9 – Step Into The NHS Competition KS3 For more information – check out your emails and the Careers section of the website Competition Brief There is much more to working for the NHS than being a doctor or nurse. In fact there are more than 350 different careers in the NHS and, with that many careers on offer, there’s a job to suit you no matter what your interests and skills are. That’s where the Step into the NHS competition comes in. We want you to choose an NHS career that interests you and create a job description and an ad to tell your friends and other young people about it. You can work on your own or in teams of up to four. The prizes Whether you enter individually or as part of a team, everyone taking part in a winning entry will get their own prize and certificate. National winner The overall winner(s) will each receive a £50 Amazon voucher and a prize for their school. Regional winners Nine regional winners or members of winning teams will each receive an Amazon voucher worth £25. Highly commended certificates are also awarded. Good luck!
