Verver Export = thinking about (public) greenery ‘Knowledge is power’ Verver Export has its own test site in the Netherlands where bulb mixtures, combinations of perennials and summer (tram) concepts are trialled. A different climate, different soil and maintenance can affect the end-result: knowledge = power! Spring / Printemps / Frühling Bee Wise promotional packs Verver Export has developed a promotional pack specially for municipalities, parks and associations that want to boost biodiversity. Each pack contains 25 blubs that will increase plant diversity during the summer months and attract various pollinators. Jacqueline van der Kloet Take a look behind the scenes On the ‘secret’ of Verver Export mixtures Verver Export excels in offering many different mixtures for use public and semi-public green spaces. This makes it easy for customers to choose something that suits their village, town or park. It’s always a challenging puzzle to put these mixtures together because there are a huge amount of spring bulbs and so the possibilities are endless. Concepts such as ‘sequence of flowering times’, ‘height variations’ and ‘matching shapes and colours’ are used as a guide. With this as the basis, we can create lots of different moods, from sweet and romantic to refreshing and exuberant as well as multi-coloured classic styles to more modern and minimalist. Spring bulbs, both early and late-flowering varieties, are the most important ingredient of these mixtures. And to make them completely perfect, Verver Export also recommends additional spring planting in the form of seasonal flowers such as violets, wallflowers and forget-me-nots. These complete the picture and make sure that every Verver mixture dazzles. They will flower for weeks in an ever-changing and surprising way. LIKE BREAKING THE RULES AND DOING YOUR OWN THING? Then you can find lots to spark your imagination in this catalogue! Be inspired. | 11

11684 11152 Bee Wise Attractive scent Although insects do not have a nose, they often have a very good sense of smell. They do that with their antennae, which are packed with cells that detect scents. This enables insects to know a lot about their environment. Insects such as bees and butterflies are important pollinators. They fly from flower to flower and thereby spread pollen. Many flowers such as hyacinths attract pollinators with their distinctive fragrance. So when you plant mixtures with hyacinths, you're also doing your bit for the bees! 11561 | 17

“We are delighted that we REPORTAGE have been recognised for our quality, diversity and commitment!” Shower of gold medals for Verver Export 26 |
Almost 1 million bulbs from Verver Export were on display at BUGA (Bundesgartenschau) in Heilbronn (Germany) in spring 2019. During the ‘Olympic Games for Gardeners’ Verver Export won more than 20 gold medals for its wide range of tulips, daffodils and many other bulb crops. The Summer Island and the Rose Garden were a unique sea of flowers, and the flowering strips on the hills that were mechanically planted by Verver Export were a real eyecatcher and a popular photo opportunity. Tijmen Verver also supported the gardening show in the community: sponsored bulbs were used by the residents of Heilbronn in the intercultural garden and by the European mini-gardeners. One special award was the Grand Gold Medal from the Deutschen-Bundesgartenschau- Gesellschaft (DBG) for a “high quality and varied range of bulbs” and the top prize from the Ministry of the Environment, Agriculture, Nature and Consumer Protection of North Rhine- Westphalia for a “broad, varied, insect-friendly range of bulbs”. 11632 Colour is emotion Feminine Colours play a major role in the feeling that something gives us. Colour associations are created by culture, fashion, experience, personal preference and perception, amongst other things. Human memory is prompted by visual stimuli, and colour is one of them. The combination of purple, pink and white is commonly considered a feminine combination, and is used a lot by landscape designers. The harmonious effect is achieved by remaining within one colour family and using it in various shades. White is a neutral colour that plays the ‘lightening’ role in this colour combination. 11293 | 47
