A Message from the Educational Media Services Director Dr. Niki Bates Educational Media Services Director CONTINUITY OF LEARNING V egas PBS is committed to education and has been a major contributor in the endeavor to ensure continuity of learning at home during the COVID-19 pan- demic and school closures across Nevada. Three days after schools closed, Vegas PBS launched a website, classroomcast.org, filled with family-friendly lessons for students in elementary, middle and high school. Multi- modality lesson formats are accessible and provide a wide variety as we understand that chil- dren learn in many ways. Vegas PBS listened to the many caregivers working from home and ensured that independent, engaging activities were also included to provide much needed fam- ily support as well. To encourage hands-on language arts continuity in the home, Vegas PBS also extended the deadline of the VEGAS PBS KIDS Writers Contest Presented by Janice Allen to June 1, 2020.
