THE president’s say Gday all. There’s been quite a bit happening back of house, so I thought I would update everyone. I’ll start with the less exciting stuff and then get to the good stuff. Committee positions. For those who didn’t attend the last meeting. Stuart has stood down as president. With growing work and family commitments he felt he could no longer give the position the time needed. He has been in the position for the past 18 months which I along with the whole club thank him for. I was happy to help out and fill the roll. How ever there is quite a few vacant positions on the committee, which need to be filled. We currently have no: -Treasurer -Social coordinator -Vice President -And could do with another general committee member or two. It is vital to get these positions filled, otherwise those left will burn out and we will really struggle for committee members next year (our 50th year). Any of these individual positions are not overly work intensive at all. With all positions filled the committee and there for the club runs like a well oiled machine. Once we are missing a cog here and there, well it starts to run like dare I say, a Nissan patrol, and it’s not overly rewarding being part of. If you are willing to play any part at all on the committee please make contact with me ASAP. COVID update. As I’m sure you are all aware. The NT and most of Australia did dodge a pretty serious bullet and life is rapidly getting back to normal. How ever it could have been quite a different story. TLCC Darwin life member Billy Hayse copped quite a bad dose of covid 19 and was hospitalised in nsw. But all ended well and after a much longer stay in nsw then first planned, he is back in the territory and no longer banished to his house (he missed the last meeting by one day with his mandatory quarantining). I have filled out and had our coved safe plan approved. Which is pretty much common sense, social distancing, hygiene and staying home if you are crook. We will need this for when we go back to inside meetings. We will have one more outside meeting for June. This time at marlows lagoon (email will come out shortly with details) then the plan was to go back to normal at grey. How ever Palmerston council informed me today they they are not reopening grey community hall, they will start renovation and extension works on this shortly. So we are currently looking into other options until these works are complete. If anyone has any suggestions please get in contact. We hope to have a new venue sorted before our next meeting (in marlows lagoon in June in 2 weeks). Trips are back to normal (with social distancing of course) anyone wanting to run a trip please get in touch, we can assist to make it happen. Being a trip leader is very simple and we can assist with gps routes, permits and all relevant info. I encourage all members to set them self a goal of lead- ing at least one trip this dry season. Seriously anyone can do it. Membership fees. Again for those not at the last meeting, the committee decided seeing as we are heading into our 50th year. Along with the covid situation effect- ing both activity in the club and many members bank balance. We would reduce membership fees by 50% for current members who renew by the end of June. An email will come out with all the renewal details in early June. TLCC DARWIN 50th celebration. 2021 is the clubs 50th year. For those that don’t know, we are the 2nd oldest LandCruiser Club in Australia, after nsw. We are planning on having a weeklong trip through Kakadu, culminating with a big event on the June Long weekend at Moline Golf course. Please keep the dates 5th to the 14th of June clear. For those who can not get the week off, you can join in on the weekend prior (5th and 6th of June) and the 50th party at moline golf course (12th 13th and 14th of June). It will be a trip to remember. See you at the next meeting, Mickey Barratt. 3
WH E RE DO W E M E E T I N J UN E Time to get back to the new normal. As such we will be resuming the General Meetings next month, Wednesday 3rd June at Marlows Lagoon (see attached Map). Please BYO camp chair and mozzie spray. 6pm start for a sausage sizzle followed by a 7 pm meeting start. We hope you can all make the time to attend so that we can kick the club into the next gear for the remain- der of the dry. See you there. 4

Jonathan Kehler I replaced my starter as it started ticking since our last trip in Adelaid River ( on UZJ100 they are in the worst spot ) I removed the roof gallery and guard plate from the rear bar to paint them using Raptor Bedliner. I also fixed and replaced some lights on my roof rack, redid all the electrical between each lights. Engine ready to be taken apart. I removed the gas struts holding the bonnet, it gave me more space to work around the engine. Standing in the engine was sometimes easier! Finally had access to the starter I ended up replacing the starter instead of fixing it as is broke while I was trying to remove it. 16
The Throttle body was realy dirty so Throttle body cleaned. I cleaned it while I was at it.
