The sun shone as children dipped their feet in the sea, made sandcastles and had a very competitive game of volleyball! This was all finished off with a cooling ice-lolly whilst sunbathing on their towels. Once the excitement of the ‘trip to the beach’ was over, the children put pencil to paper to create their own post cards. Each child wrote about their experiences and how much they enjoyed their trip, complete with a photo of themselves on the back of the post card. After adding addresses and stamps, the children then completed the experience by walking with their post cards to Burton Street to post them in a real post box! Children and families at home have been delighted to receive their post cards as a keepsake from a fantastic day at the beach! Andrew Earnshaw Miss Thorpe, Head of Reception Headmaster

Art Exhibition The LHS GCSE and A Level art exhibition of Year 11 and 13 student’s portfolios has been running in the art studios this week, and has been very well attended by staff and pupils. We are delighted to be able to celebrate the truly outstanding work the girls have produced over the last two years. A good deal of this was created in lockdown and as such is testament to the tremendous adaptability and determination of our students, and forbearance and support of our parents. A fantastic virtual tour has been filmed and so all parents, students, staff and VIPs can view the work online this year, in place of our usual live event. The final cut will be available on the website and a link will be sent out soon. We hope you will take the time to view the show, and very much look forward to welcoming everyone back into the studios for our 2022 opening.
