Acknowledgement of Country Students from Lourdes Hill College, Hawthorne Cynthia Rowan, Evangelisation Brisbane RAP Project Officer Welcome to the day Doug Ashleigh, Assistant Director of Brisbane Catholic Education Office Opening Song ‘We Are” We Are Music and Lyrics by: Gavin Agnew & Steph Unger Acknowledgment of Country by: Tina O’Keeffe & Steph Unger How bright is the night that comes alive, through brilliant starlight! (We pay respect to the countries, the skies, the waterways…) Each of us a single star but we, we make the dark bright. (…to Elders past, present, future, the holders of wisdom.) Little did we dream of what was to spring. From humble beginnings to what the future brings. We are hope (we are the hope) we will make a difference in this world. We are now (we are the now) we walk together, as the heart of this land. We are, we are, we are, we are We are light! This is who we are, we are, we are, we are! This is who we are, we are, we are, we are! This is who we are!
From the first step taken mighty changes on the horizon. (in the Spirit of Reconciliation we move together) Treasured stories, the past, we’re building on, our future’s rising. (through truth and justice we walk gently on this land) From a suitcase on a porch, from our first opened door. To ev’ry heart that’s taught, challenged and transformed. We are hope (we are the hope) we will make a difference in this world. We are now (we are the now) we walk together, as the heart of this land. We are, we are, we are, we are We are light! We are the hope (we are hope) We are the now (we are now) We are the light (we are light) We are, we are This is who we are, we are, we are, we are! This is who we are, we are, we are, we are! This is who we are! The Greeting Archbishop In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Coleridge Assembly: Amen
Opening Prayer Archbishop All powerful God, Coleridge you are present in the whole universe and in the smallest of creatures. Embrace with your tenderness all that exists. Standing on the Shoulders By Joyce Johnson Rouse I am standing on the shoulders of the ones who came before me I am stronger for their courage, I am wiser for their words I am lifted by their longing for a fair and brighter future I am grateful for their vision, for their toiling on this Earth We are standing on the shoulders of the ones who came before us They are saints and they are humans, they are angels, they are friends We can see beyond the struggles and the troubles and the challenge When we know that by our efforts things will be better in the end I am standing on the shoulders of the ones who came before me I am honored by their passion for our liberty I will stand a little taller, I will work a little longer And my shoulders will be there to hold the ones who follow me hey lift me higher than I could ever fly T Carrying my burdens away I imagine our world if they hadn’t tried We wouldn’t be so very blessed today I am standing on the shoulders of the ones who came before me I am honored by their passion for our liberty I will stand a little taller, I will work a little longer And my shoulders will be there to hold the ones who follow me.
Psalm ‘Here I am Lord’/ ‘Your Grace is Enough’ Here I am Lord Here I am, Lord Is it I, Lord? I have heard You calling in the night I will go, Lord If You lead me I will hold Your people in my heart Your Grace is Enough Great is Your faithfulness, oh God. You wrestle with the sinner’s heart, You lead us by still waters into mercy, And nothing can keep us apart So, remember Your people, Remember Your children, Remember Your promise, oh God, Your grace is enough, Your grace is enough, Your grace is enough for me. Great is Your love and justice, God. You use the weak to lead the strong, You lead us in the song of Your salvation, and all Your people sing along So, remember Your people, Remember Your children, Remember Your promise, oh God, Your grace is enough, Your grace is enough, Your grace is enough for me. (Yeah) Your grace is enough, Your grace is enough, Your grace is enough for me...

Recessional “All the People said Amen” All the People Said Amen All the People Said Amen You are not alone if you are lonely When you feel afraid you’re not the only We are all the same In need of mercy to be forgiven and be free It’s all you got to lean on, But thank God, it’s all you need. And all the people said Amen. Whoa and all the people said Amen. Give thanks to the Lord, for His love never ends. And all the people said Amen. If you’re rich or poor, well, it don’t matter. Weak or strong, you know love is what we’re after. We’re all broken, but we’re all in this together. God knows we stumble and fall, and He so loved the world, He sent His Son to save us all. And all the people said Amen. Whoa and all the people said Amen. Give thanks to the Lord, for His love never ends. And all the people said Amen. Blessed are the poor in spirit who are torn apart. Blessed are the persecuted and the pure in heart. Blessed are the people hungry for another start, For theirs is the kingdom of God. And all the people said Amen. Whoa and all the people said Amen. Give thanks to the Lord, for His love never ends. And all the people said Amen. Yeah men. And all the people said Amen.
