FINE METAL
     Fine Metal
     ........................................................................................................................................

Fine Metal describes the design and making of small-scale artefacts using the
unique visual and physical properties of a range of metals such as copper,
pewter, steel and silver; the fineness is in the scale of working and the precise
nature of skills applied. Ideas can include the development of sculptural works or
more practical applications such as cutlery and containers. Many of the materials,
techniques and approaches are also relevant and transferable to a jewellery
context. Other complementary materials may also be considered such as woods,
     stones and resins.
