Themed around a particular issue in each program, Chrysalis has explored community leadership, social media, conflict resolution and sustainability. Working together, students gain confidence and improve critical thinking and decision-making skills while also developing an international network of like-minded peers. In 2016, the Chrysalis brand expanded to include a suite of educational and career development programs for students in Years 9-12.

PROGRAM DETAILS Our versatile one week leadership program includes an array of educational, interactive, and hands-on activities in a multicultural environment. You will also have the opportunity to explore Brisbane and experience Australian lifestyle and culture. VBE takes game-based learning to a new level. Teams operate a business and compete against each other in a virtual environment. Learners are challenged to work in a team to manage a business from start-up to create a sustainable, profitable company in a highly competitive and unpredictable environment. The program also provides learners with a unique environment to apply theory to practice. A guided on-campus tour is a fantastic opportunity to get a closer look at university life, ask questions, talk to current students and see the facilities first-hand. IES MATES An initiative that connects Chrysalis Young Leaders with Australian students currently studying at university. A resident crew of trained English Language instructors, IES Mates allows students to practice their speaking and listening skills, gain insight into university life and take full advantage of their time experiencing the Australian lifestyle and absorbing the new culture. PROGRAM SERVICES I WANT TO EXPLORE HOW TECHNOLOGY CAN HELP US DEAL WITH ACCOMMODATION SOCIAL ISSUES. This year students will have the opportunity to experience the Australian student lifestyle by living at dedicated student accommodation with IES staff in attendance to ensure they are safe and well cared for. Students will feel safe and welcome in this environment and will be able to interact with resident students who will assist you to make the most out of this cultural exchange. Accommodation costs are included in the price of the program. GUARDIANSHIP IES provides guardianship services to all students under-18 and a range of services including a 24-hour emergency telephone number so you can call IES staff at any time in case of emergencies. The guardianship service is provided free-of-charge. WEEKLY TRANSPORT IES will organise all transportation between the student accommodation and IES and for any other scheduled activities. Transport costs are included in the price of the program. FOOD The cost of the program includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. AIRPORT TRANSFERS Airport pick-up and drop-off services are also included in the cost of the program. Students must provide IES with complete flight details as requested in the acceptance form.
