Food Integrity Project I Conclusion year Bringing together 60 participants from 18 European countries in addition to China and Argentina, Food Integrity’s key focus has been to consolidate, harmonise and mobilise the European capability on food authentication to ensure consumer confidence and protect European added value. The €12M five-year project (2014 – 2018) has reduced the current barriers to data sharing and utilisation that is crucial to combating food fraud by supplying methods and tools that have addressed both enforcement and industry needs. With 21 work packages, the project not only sought to enhance early warning capabilities, but also, working with industry, has developed methods, systems and processes that have assured the quality, authenticity and safety of the food chain so that: • Consumer confidence is enhanced with respect to the integrity of the food they buy • Fraudulent products in the market place are more easily detected. 5th Conference 2018 by Eurofins, Nantes, 14-15 November
