Bernhard Mattes President of the German Association of the Automotive Industry Bernhard Mattes was born in Wolfsburg in 1956 and studied economics at the University of Hohenheim. He held a variety of sales-related posts at BMW from 1982 to 1999. He then joined the Management Board at Ford Werke, which he chaired from 2002 to 2016, and simultaneously (from 2006) held the post of Vice President of the European Ford Customer Service Division. Since January 1, 2017, he has had a seat on the supervisory board at Ford Werke and on the Presidential Board of DEKRA.
Andreas Renschler Member of the Board of Management, Volkswagen AG; CEO, Volkswagen Truck & Bus Andreas Renschler was born in Stuttgart (Germany) in 1958. He completed training as a banker and earned degrees in business engineering and business administration. Renschler began his career at Daimler-Benz AG in 1988. He took over the M Class unit as President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz US in 1993. After a brief stint as Senior Vice President of DaimlerChrysler AG, responsible for Executive Management Development, Renschler was named President of smart GmbH. In 2004, he became a member of the Daimler AG Board of Management for the Daimler Trucks Division. He was appointed a Member of the Daimler AG Board of Management responsible for Manufacturing and Procurement for the Cars & Vans Division in 2013. Andreas Renschler has been a Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG responsible for the Commercial Vehicles Division since February 1, 2015. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of Volkswagen Truck & Bus GmbH.
Martin Daum Member of the Board of Management, Daimler AG, Daimler Trucks & Buses Martin Daum, born on October 28, 1959, is Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, responsible for Daimler Trucks and Daimler Buses. After graduating with a Master’s Degree in Economic Studies from the University of Mannheim, he started working as Management Consultant. His career with Daimler began in 1987. After several management positions in sales, marketing and controlling – in Germany and the United States – he became Member of the Executive Committee of Mercedes-Benz Trucks in Europe in 2002. First responsible for controlling, he took over additional responsibility as Head of the Unimog & Special Vehicle Division in 2003. In 2006 he became Senior Vice President of Production for Mercedes-Benz Trucks. In 2009, Daum was appointed President and CEO of Daimler Trucks North America and its affiliated companies. Since March 2017, Martin Daum has been in his current function as Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, responsible for Daimler Trucks and Buses.

Pierre Lahutte Brand President, Iveco Pierre Lahutte assumed the role of Iveco Brand President in June 2014 and also joined the Group Executive Council of CNH Industrial. Since 2014, Mr. Lahutte has sat on the ACEA (European Automobile Manufacturers Association) Board. He has 20 years of experience in the agricultural and bus industries, much of which he has gained through roles of increasing responsibility within CNH and Iveco. Mr. Lahutte started his career in 1997 in New Holland Agriculture based at the Jesi plant in Italy as a graduate trainee. From 1999-2001 he was Product Manager for New Holland Handling Equipment at the Basildon plant in the UK, supporting Western European markets. From 2001-2004 he was Marketing and Logistics Manager for the New Holland Agriculture and Case IH brands in Spain and Portugal, then continued his international career, becoming Business Manager for New Holland Agriculture and Case IH in AME and Japan. From 2005-2007 he served as Business Director for New Holland Agriculture and Case IH/Steyr in the Benelux markets, then he moved to the role of Director of Product Management for Tractors and Telehandlers for New Holland Agriculture in 2007-2011. In 2012 he was appointed Marketing Director for the International Region of CNH, then he moved to Iveco Irisbus as Vice President of the Global Bus business at the end of 2012, with responsibility for Product Marketing and Sales. Mr. Lahutte holds a Tank Officer degree from the French Armored Cavalry School in Saumur, a Masters in Marketing and Technology Management from the Rouen Business School, France and a MBA from the UMASS ISENBERG School of Management, Amherst, USA.
Joachim Drees Chairman of the Management Board, MAN Truck & Bus AG Born on November 20, 1964, in Düsseldorf, Germany. Joachim Drees studied business administration at the University of Stuttgart and completed his MBA at the Portland State University. After his graduation, he worked with various renowned management consultancy companies and with the privatization agency (“Treuhandanstalt”) in Berlin. Beginning in 1996, Joachim Drees held different managerial positions at the Daimler Truck Group and at Mercedes-Benz Trucks, among others, as Commercial Head of the Gear Units Business Division in Gaggenau and as Head of Commercial Vehicles Controlling. In 2006, he joined the British Investment company HgCapital LLP as Partner for Portfolio Management. From 2012 onwards, he was Chief Financial Officer at the Drees & Sommer AG and Head of the divisions Finance & Controlling, M&A (Merger & Acquisitions), Human Resources, Administration and Globalisation Support. Since April 1, 2015, Joachim Drees is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at MAN Truck & Bus AG, Munich, and since October 1, 2015, also Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MAN SE.

Stefan E. Buchner Member of the Divisional Board Daimler Trucks Head of Mercedes-Benz Trucks Stefan Buchner, born on January 18, 1960, is Head of Mercedes-Benz Trucks. After receiving his first school degree in Ludwigsburg, he did a practical training at the Deutsche Bundesbahn to become a communication equipment mechanic. His secondary school degree is followed by the completion of a business engineering program at the University of Applied Sciences in Esslingen. In 1986, Stefan Buchner commences his professional career by working as a buyer for production material in the Management Associate Program at the former Daimler-Benz AG. He continued his career by assuming various positions in the division of non-product material such as manager and senior manager. Then, he became project leader of the E- class procurement division in 1995, to take on the post of Senior Procurement Manager Interior one year later. In 1998 he was responsible for the division Strategic Planning and Controlling Procurement at the former DaimlerChrysler AG. From 1999 to 2000, Stefan Buchner was responsible for Interior/Exterior and Complete Vehicle Procurement passenger cars and for Electrics/Electronics, Chassis and Complete Vehicle Procurement passenger cars as Director for a year each. In 2001 he became Director for Strategic Planning passenger cars Mercedes-Benz and Office „Executive Automotive Committee“ before going to Mitsubishi Motors Corporation in Japan as Director for Global Procurement & Supply in 2002. After his return to Germany he was assigned Director for Procurement Trucks and Buses. In addition to this post, he has been responsible for the division Global Powertrain (aggregates) and Production Planning since 2010. Since January 1st, 2013 Stefan Buchner is Head of Mercedes-Benz Trucks.
Heinz-Jürgen Löw Member of the Brand Board of Management for Sales and Marketing at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Heinz-Jürgen Löw (54) is since January 1, 2018 Member of the Brand Board of Management for Sales and Marketing at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in Hannover. Heinz-Jürgen Löw was trained as a specialist for forwarding and logistics services and completed the Management Certificate course at the Management Center in St. Gallen, Switzerland. From 1987 on, Mr Löw held various posts at Wolf Graf von Bassewitz GmbH. His last position there was as Sales Manager All Product Segments. In 1992, Heinz-Jürgen Löw moved to Zeppelin GmbH, where he held a series of different management posts. tarting in 1999, he was appointed to various management positions of responsibility at Renault Trucks SAS. His last role there was as President of Renault Trucks in Lyon. In March 1, 2013 Heinz-Jürgen Löw was appointed Director of Sales & Marketing at MAN Truck & Bus AG, Munich.
Volker Mornhinweg Head of Mercedes Benz Vans Volker Mornhinweg, born on January 18, 1960, is responsible for Mercedes-Benz Vans as Executive Vice President. In 1980, he began an apprenticeship as a machine fitter in the plant in Sindelfingen. After studying Precision Engineering at Esslingen Technical College, where he graduated in Engineering (Dipl. Ing.), he worked as a Manufacturing Process Engineer in various departments in Sindelfingen. In 1990 he was appointed Team Leader of the Manufacturing Process „Automation“ in Sindelfingen. Following this, he worked there on projects in various departments, e.g. the introduction of a profit and cost center and the structure and process design of the Management Technology Center as well as helping start up new products from the A-Class to the S-Class in the so-called “zero series” workshop. In 1998, he was appointed Leader of Product Preparation, staying in Sindelfingen until January 2002. From 2000 until 2002, he was responsible for the planning process of all Mercedes-Benz assembly plants worldwide. After this he became Plant Manager in the Marienfelde plant in Berlin. Here he was a Member of the Management Team for Parts & Components. In 2003 he was appointed Vice President of Executive Management Development at Human Resources. In this function he was solely responsible for the worldwide development of the Daimler Management Team. In 2005 he was appointed Chairman of the Management Board of Mercedes- AMG GmbH in Affalterbach. He managed the Performance brand within Mercedes-Benz Cars for five years and he was responsible for the launch of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. Since April 1, 2010, he is Executive Vice President and Head of Mercedes-Benz Vans.

Giandomenico Demartini Product Management Director, Heuliez Bus Giandomenico Demartini assumed the role of Product Management Director in October 2017, together with the role of President of Heuliez SA. He has more than 20 years of experience in automotive and commercial vehicles industries, in different roles from product engineering to manufacturing and sales. Mr. Demartini started his career in 1998 in COMAU/UTS as project manager for cars and trucks turnkey projects, serving customers like Ferrari, Alfa Romeo and Scania. In 2005, he took the responsibility of the UTS process engineering division expanding it in the emerging countries and in 2008 the role of Engineering Vice President in the body welding division of COMAU, with a global responsibility for automation processes development for cars, bus and trucks. In 2010 the international experience continued within COMAU as key account for FIAT and Chrysler standardization of welding automation processes and robotic business division development worldwide. In 2012, he joined IVECO within the manufacturing department as global manufacturing engineering director and international operations development responsible while in 2013 he took the lead of the establishment of the new operations for trucks and bus in South Africa setting up the joint venture and launching the product in the market. In 2015, he joined the bus division as platform development leader for citybuses, intercity and coaches’ businesses while since October 2017 is fully dedicated to the Brand Heuliez Bus for the management of the product line up and particularly for the development of the electromobility business model. Mr Demartini holds a university degree in Aeronautical Engineering and is an ICF ACSTH certified executive coach.
Wolfgang Presinger Senior Advisor, Volvo Bus Corporation Since 2012 Wolfgang Presinger acts as Senior Advisor to Volvo Bus Corporation (VBC) based in Göteborg, Sweden. In this function he is also engaged with the German Sales & Marketing Organisation Volvo Busse Deutschland GmbH (VBD), Ismaning. Presinger assist VBC and VBD in a variety of functions, mainly focused to realigne the european Bus & Coach business to the present needs of customers and markets. Between 1990 and 2016 Presinger served in various managerial functions within the Daimler-Group. Amongst other duties, 7 years till 1998 as management board member of Mercedes-Benz Türk A.S. Istanbul in charge of sales, after sales and export activities. In 1999 Presinger was promoted to a board member of the then newly founded Daimler-daughter company EvoBus GmbH/Daimler Buses. His responsibilities were sales and mareketing for all buses and coaches under the Mercedes-Benz Brand. In 2007 Presinger moved into the consultancy business, acting till 2011 as senior consultant to the owner family and all board members of the Polish Bus and Coach manufacturer Solaris Bus & Coach, Bolechowo/Poznan. In addition to this function he also held a seat in Solaris‘ supervisory board.
Dr. Kurt-Christian Scheel Managing Director of the German Association of the Automotive Industry Trained as a lawyer in Bonn, Kiel, Freiburg im Breisgau and Berlin, Dr. Scheel started his career in 1996 as advisor for healh and safety, product safety and environmental law at Federation of German Industries (BDI). Later, he headed the Department for Legal Affairs, Insurance and Consumer policy and from 2009 until 2011 the Department for Climate and Sustainable Development at BDI. From 2009 until 2011, he additionally served econsence - Forum for Sustainable Development of German Business as Managing Director. From 2011 until 2016, Dr. Scheel led the Governmental and Political Affairs Dept.at Robert Bosch GmbH before joining the Federation of Automobile Industry (VDA) as managing director in 2018.
