Cape Town At the foot of the vast continent of Africa is Cape Town, South Africa’s mother city. Cape Town is set in a dramatic landscape of exquisite natural beauty, nestled between the majestic Table Mountain and the sea, and is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Cape Town has so much to offer as a destination. It is blessed to have South Africa’s top 6 tourist attractions within a one-hour’ drive of the city centre: the breath-taking Table Mountain – easily accessed on the cable car; the emotional and inspiring trip out to Robben Island; the Waterfront with its vibrant retail and entertainment areas; and a lazy day sampling world-class food and wine in the beautiful wine lands. The drive along the Peninsula to Cape Point has few international rivals and boasts some of the Cape’s best seaside restaurants. Last but not least, is Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens on the slopes of Table Mountain. Kirstenbosch is a wonderful showcase of the unique diversity of South Africa’s flora, especially the world-renowned fynbos of the Cape Floral Kingdom. 4|Page

WATER IN CAPE TOWN: Tap water is safe to drink. While it is true that Cape Town has experienced a severe drought and the resulting water shortages significantly raised everyone’s awareness of their water usage habits, the combination of good winter rains and Capetonians pulling together to reduce water consumption has resulted in the relaxation of water usage restrictions. Visitors to Cape Town will notice the water-saving spirit everywhere they go, and are encouraged to do their part, but rest assured that daily life as a resident or tourist in Cape Town is not negatively impacted.
