Housing Heroes Awards 2018 Recognising local heroes and celebrating working together to improve housing services in Southwark
FOREWORD Welcome to our fifth annual Housing Heroes Awards where we take the opportunity to recognise and celebrate the great work that happens every day on our estates and in our communities. Housing Heroes is our chance to show you how your efforts have been recognised, not just by the council but by others in your community. Southwark Council is the largest landlord of social housing in London. We are responsible for over 54,000 homes. Managing these homes and making sure they are good places to live is something that would be infinitely harder to achieve without the hard work and goodwill of many of our residents. These homes are not just bricks and mortar but vibrant and diverse communities. The contribution of our housing heroes helps us make these homes and neighbourhoods great places to live, and can never be underestimated. The Housing Heroes Awards are our way of saying thank you to those who care for the people around them and the communities they live in. In a time where we have experienced unprecedented cuts to the council’s funding this is even more important than ever. I want to thank you, for your contributions to supporting your neighbours, helping communities thrive and flourish. Cllr Stephanie Cryan Cabinet Member for Housing Management and Modernisation
