President’s Letter Dear Pilots, W e are in the last quarter of this Pilot year and what a year it has been. Pilots have found new ways to serve their communities and to raise funds. District Conventions have been held both in-person or virtually. Pilots had the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge of their district and Pilot International and participate in important Pilot business. They also had the opportunity to gain new ideas to take home to their clubs. As I have said all year long, Pilots continue to Do More, Care More, and Be More even in difficult times. This issue of the Pilot Log will spotlight our upcoming 100th Year Pilot International Annual Convention and Leadership Conference. Atlanta and the Marriott Marquis are awaiting our arrival. From Your PI Anchor Coordin ator. . . Finally, the warm weather is here, the flowers are blooming, and the Anchors are out doing what they do best…serving their communities. As this Anchor year comes to end, we prepare for the culminating event, our Leadership Summit in Atlanta, Georgia to be held July 7-10. Highlights include a MARTA ride to The Varsity for lunch, a tour of the World of Coca-Cola, and creating a work of art from plain bottle caps as a service project. Anchors will also listen to speakers Victoria Huggins and Derrick and Julie Tennant, participate in workshops and the Cultural Exchange. They will also join the Pilots for the Awards Breakfast, Anchor Panel, and Installation Banquet. The Summit promises to be an exciting experience! Experiencing the Anchor Leadership Summit really emphasizes the importance of the relationship between Anchor and Pilot. As Pilots, we must see that Anchor is the future of Pilot. It is vital that we mentor our youth in leadership and community service. The rewards are great for both sides! Now is the time to start considering sponsoring an Anchor Club. Is there a school, home schooling group, or private school around that could be a potential club? Seek them out and share the news of Anchor. Get them ready to charter and Do More, Care More, Be More!! in the fall.
