Welcome Message The department of cardiothoracic surgery at the Faculty of Medicine, Suez Canal University is honored to be organizing this conference in the presence of remarkable and prestigious people in the field of cardiothoracic surgery. We would like to thank and welcome the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery in Great Britain and Ireland and the Egyptian society of Cardiothoracic Surgery, hoping that you find your experience here enriching on both the professional and the personal levels. In this conference we will have seminars, lectures and workshops covering many interesting and challenging aspects of cardiothoracic surgery, some of these events are designed to meet the demands of the junior surgical staff, we are also organizing live streaming sessions from the operating theatre where the spectators can witness live surgery and even communicate with the operating surgeon. Moreover, numerous social events are organized during your stay for the conference which shall give you a taste of the beauty that is Egypt. Sightseeing: THE EGYPTIAN MUSEUM Contains many important pieces of ancient Egyptian history. It houses theworld’s largest collection of Pharaonic antiquities, and many treasures of King Tutankhamen. The museum exhibits over 120000 objects, some of the important groups of these objects are: Artifacts from the tombs of kings and members of the royal families of the Middle Kingdom found at Dahshur in 1894.The contents of the royal tombs of Tuthmosis III, Tuthmosis IV, Amenhotep III and Horemheb and the tomb of Yuya and Thuya.Artifacts from the tomb of Tutankhamun, consisting of more than 3500 Pieces, of which 1700 objects are displayed in the museum (the rest are in storerooms).
