ADMINISTRATIVE MESSAGE Dear IIS Community, Despite being a relatively short month, February has proven to be jam packed with many memorable happenings at the Italian International School. Earlier this month, we issued our first set of report cards, and we are ever so proud of our students and their results. Additionally, we held our Italian Food Festival and had our very first Grade 5 PYP Exhibition. Our grade 5 students did an amazing job showcasing their learning in the PYP transdisciplinary unit, ‘How We Express Ourselves’. March is approaching quickly with us commencing the month with our ‘House Day / Sports Day’. All of our students, including the newest PreK students will compete with their house teams in several activities / games. We look forward to sharing the excitement with you all. More information will follow. Further ahead, Ramadan will arrive at the end of March. We will be contacting our parents for your input regarding our operating times during Ramadan. A very important request of all parents/nannies/drivers: Please use the drop-off kiss and ride shoulder in front of the school when dropping off your children in the morning time. IT IS NOT SAFE to drop your child off on the main road. I have spoken to a few parents in this regard to let them know, this is not safe practice and the practice will not continue at the school. Many thanks for your ongoing support and cooperation. Sincerely, Janet DesJardins Principal
