The proposed 40km/h speed limit is a reduction from the current legal limit of 50km/h. Is there anything else that we should consider when making our decision?
The Government is spending $1.4 billion over three years to make high-risk roads safer. No matter what causes a crash, speed can be the difference between walking away or being carried away. Speed also reduces the time you have to react to a mistake – yours or someone else’s.
