Dear Fellow Collector,
Stack’s Bowers Galleries and the American Numismatic Association are pleased to announce their
ongoing relationship in 2022. As an ANA Auctioneer Partner, we are once again working together
to present a landmark auction featuring a diverse offering of important rarities and desirable numis-
matic items across many collecting specialties. We invite you to be a part of it!
The coin market is strong with a dynamic mix of new collectors, experienced hobbyists and sea-
soned professionals eagerly participating in auction sales. Our recent Spring 2022 Showcase
Auction of United States coins and paper money realized nearly $37 million, surpassing pre-sale estimates by nearly
60% and setting hundreds of records in the process. The sale was highlighted by a quartet of gold treasures including
the $1.1 million 1907 Rounded Rim $10 and the $840,000 1907 Wire Rim $10 from the Zito Collection, the unique
Daniel Morgan at Cowpens gold medal that earned $960,000, and the incredible Fairmont-Hendricks 1870-CC double
eagle that sold for $840,000. The Hendricks Set from the Fairmont Collection featured a nearly complete collection of
$5, $10, and $20 Liberty Head gold coins with additional selections from the Classic Head, Indian Head, and Saint-
Gaudens series. The coins presented in this stand-alone catalog realized a total of $13.6 million, with 70% of the lots
setting new auction records for the grade or overall issue. The incredible results of our Spring 2022 auction confirm
Stack’s Bowers Galleries’ continuing leadership as auctioneers of world-class rarities.
The demand for World and Ancient coins remains incredibly strong, with particular strength in almost all areas of
Asian numismatics. Soaring past $40 million, the May 2022 Hong Kong auction provided some incredible results. The
highlight of the auction, a Long Whisker Dragon Dollar in PCGS Specimen-63+ realized a final price of $3,000,000.
A classic rarity, the 1899 3 Mace 6 Candareens from Kiangnan also crossed the million-dollar mark, selling for $1.2
million and setting a record for a Chinese minor coin. This was the highest valued lot from the Kairos Collection,
an exceptional gathering of 14 coins that realized over $6 million. With over 7,500 lots of world and ancient coins,
Stack’s Bowers Galleries was able to offer items to collectors with any budget. The May 2022 Hong Kong Auction
was a spectacular showing of our role as market leader in world and ancient numismatics, with our offering and results
far outpacing any competitor in both coins and banknotes.
Our World and U.S. paper money departments have seen significant success as our reach expands. We are now the
official auctioneer of the bi-annual Valkenburg convention, the largest world paper money show in the world. Stack's
Bowers Galleries continues to achieve record prices as we bring the most significant banknote collections to market.
We invite you to share in our success! History has shown that Stack’s Bowers Galleries has the expertise and the in-
dustry leading services to achieve the optimum results for your consignment. This is your opportunity to consign your
coins, medals, tokens and paper money to our August Global Showcase. Call 800.458.4646 for the California office or

Global Showcase Auction - Stack's Bowers Galleries August 2022 Consign to the - Stack's Bowers Galleries
Let Our Success be Your Success!

       Specialized Collections are Our Specialty

The Stack’s Bowers Galleries’ brand was not just built on the sale of single-owner sales full of
marquee rarities — Garrett, Norweb, Eliasberg, Pogue — but on thoughtfully formed cabinets
of like objects that created an opportunity to creatively introduce a specialty to a wider audi-
ence upon their dispersal. We earn the trust of advanced collectors because we approach their
cabinets like collectors do: by adding value to both rare and obscure with unparalleled re-
search, and by offering groups of like items that approach a collection like a collector, not like
a liquidator. There is no substitute for that kind of understanding, both for producing a cata-
log that showcases a collection’s breadth and depth, and for respecting the material enough to
let each object’s best characteristics shine through.

Good morning, Chris [Karstedt] and Larry [Stack],
Regina and I want to thank Stack’s Bowers profusely
for a job well done. From start to finish, you have been
insightful, supportive and professional - kind of like the
“Triple Threat” of gridiron fame. My beloved Comitia
Americana medals are memorialized by a catalogue that
may well go down as the best ever, an opinion that I am
                       well qualified to render.
Please make sure that our thanks are passed along to
all on your team who were involved in the effort.
As ever, John and Regina Adams
