At its 35th meeting, the PCB requested: “the Executive Director to undertake a multi- stakeholder consultative process to update and extend the UNAIDS 2011-2015 Strategy through the fast track period 2016- 2021…taking into account the 2011 Political Declaration on HIV and AIDS and ongoing discussions on the post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals, and report back on this process at the 36th PCB.”

How UNAIDS will deliver on its goals i HIV/TB: A partnership Scale-up of collaborative HIV/TB activities has decreased the number of TB-related deaths among people living with HIV by 33% worldwide since 2004 TB remains a leading cause of death among people living with HIV, accounting for one in five AIDS-related deaths globally The Global Plan to Stop TB 2016-20 provides an opportunity to ensure greater alignment between efforts of Stop TB and the Joint Programme
Next steps i Virtual consultation 3-18 August Aim to enable broad and diverse engagement to review first draft “I am relieved to find a virtual space, without constraints, that allows us to speak freely about the challenge of HIV.”
Next steps i 37th PCB 26–28 October: 37th UNAIDS Programme Coordinating Board meeting Final UNAIDS 2016-2021 Strategy and Unified Budget, Results and Accountability Framework will be presented
