About Global Mentorship Initiative Helping underserved college students find opportunities through mentorship. GMI mentoring programs provide students with role models to provide guidance, business skills, and sometimes job opportunities when they graduate. 2 Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization

Partnering with universities to prepare students GMI Teaches In addition to mentorship, GMI has provided LinkedIn LinkedIn training to 400 graduating students and job seekers in South Africa and the US in 2019/20. Skills Students create professional profiles with content and keywords designed to attract job recruiters. Professional photographers provide students with free business headshots. Students practice finding jobs on LinkedIn and applying online. 94% of recruiters use LinkedIn to find job candidates. Goal to train 1,000+ students by 2021. More than 120 million job interviews have originated through LinkedIn. 7

What it Takes to be a Mentor The desire to share knowledge and experience with a 1 student in the United States, South Africa, or Sri Lanka. Participate in a 60-minute online mentor training 2 course before your first mentoring session. Meet with student by teleconference for one hour, for 3 14 sessions once a week. Mentor Mentor Screening Process Requirements 1 Complete online application and attend an orientation meeting. Mentor candidates should be at least 25 years old 2 and have a BA/BS degree in their chosen field. How GMI There is no cost to students, colleges, or is Funded mentors to participate in GMI programs. GMI is funded by corporate sponsorships and individual donations. $250 will fund one GMI mentorship for a student in the US or internationally. 15
