LAKE CITY LAKE 1 2 With a downtown nestled between two large lakes, Madison is a water lover’s dream. Dubbed Teejop (Four Lakes) by the Indigineous Ho-Chunk people, it's one of two U.S. cities built on an isthmus. What's that got to do with lakes? Well, an isthmus is a land 3 4 bridge, meaning it's surrounded by lots and lots of water. Seriously, five lakes, spanning 15,000 acres. Want to canoe? We’ve got you. A long weekend of fishing? You’ll find all the Wisco 5 classics – including walleye and musky – on the Yahara Watershed chain of lakes. Swim. Kayak. Skip rocks. Sit back and sip a beer with your toes in the sand. It’s your call. KAYAK AT SUNSET/FOCAL FLAME PHOTOGRAPHY 1 LAKE MENDOTA Large and in charge, Mendota embodies lake life. Take in a sunset from Tenney Park.
