Friendship Centre Membership to Increase in 2020 Effective January 1, 2020 the annual membership fee for the Friendship Centre will rise from $40 (HST included) to $45 ( HST included). The membership fee- which has not seen an increase since 2004 , helps to support the ongoing operations of the Friendship Centre and the programs and services offered. The Friendship Centre which is funded though the Seniors Active Living Centre Grant administered by the Ministry of Seniors Affairs, The Town of St. Marys, fundraising, donations, program and membership fees has been able to avoid an increase for the past 15 years. However, to assist with increasing facility costs while maintaining a high quality service, it has become necessary to evaluate rates. It is important to us to be able to offer a variety of programs and services at a low cost, and we understand that financial barriers can limit ones ability to access programs. If an increase in the cost for your yearly membership limits you- please speak with Jenny. The Friendship Centre has a long history of offering opportunities for the community to connect, make friendships and become socially engaged. It is important to us to maintain an environment which builds on our roots and promotes sustainability, future growth and a sense of community. 10 | November and December 2019 | www.townofstmarys.com/seniorservices
