Golden Pages went to press, none of us
had any idea that the pandemic restrictions
would be in place for more than a year. We
all know (and are still learning) the negative
effects, so let’s focus on the positive ways
people have been able to adapt and do the things that need to
be done.
The professionals serving the seniors in our community
were faced with big challenges. They implemented new ways
to continue their work and keep people safe and engaged.
A big part of keeping people connected involved quickly
learning unfamiliar technology — and teaching it to others.
Online communication via Zoom and similar platforms
became the popular method of connecting with others. You
can read about the ways caregiving services reached out to
their clients on page seven.
Lifelong learning programs that usually offer in-person
classes made the switch to virtual learning and continued to
deliver new classes to online viewers near and far. The success
of this format will likely lead to even more offerings and
options people will have to learn and attend classes. See the Free In-Home Care Consultation
article on page 12 to find out more about these programs. You
may find they have a class on a topic you’ve always wanted to No Minimum Hours Required
know more about!
If you are not tech savvy, don’t despair. After the last year,
                                                                             1 to 24 Hour Caregivers
there are now more people and resources than ever that can Personal Caregivers, CNAs, HHAs
answer your questions. SeniorLink made a huge effort to
help their clients learn to get online — see more about their • Caring Companionship • Driving/Transportation
offerings on pages 13. Also check out more resources for tech • Alzheimer’s Care • Medication Reminders

It’s easy to come up with all the things to tell people they • Hospice Care • Feeding/Eating Assistance
“should” be doing — clean out your closet, get hearing aids, • Bathing & Dressing • Shopping and Errands
make a will, watch your blood pressure, get some exercise ... • Walker Assistance • Housekeeping
and on and on. I think for now people SHOULD just enjoy • Wheelchair Transfers • Laundry, Linen Changes
having a meal with friends, visiting family they haven’t been • Toileting, Incontinence • Fall Prevention & More...
able to see for awhile and maybe even traveling someplace
besides the nearest grocery store. You SHOULD think about
what makes you happy and do that.

Our senior living is accredited
for two reasons. You. And your family.
Because having the confidence and peace of mind of accreditation is important.
That’s why SRG senior living communities are accredited by CARF International—an independent
organization that sets exceedingly high standards for assisted living and memory care services
and safeguards. It’s a lot like an accreditation for a hospital or college. We think you’ll find that
our accreditation is only one of the many reasons to take a good look.
