Compact? That's an optical illusion. Class-leading loadspace With cargo space ranging from 6.0 cubic metres in the L1 H1 (short wheelbase, low roof) to 8.3 cubic metres in the L2 H2 (long wheelbase, high roof), plus the ability to carry standard 8' x 4' boards face down or standing, the Transit Custom is as practical as it is stylish. Model shown is a Transit Custom Limited Van L2 (long wheelbase) H2 (high roof) in Moondust Silver 4 metallic paint (option). 5
A flip-up panel in the bulkhead allows load- through access to the underseat storage area, allowing items such as pipes and ladders of up to 3.4 metres* in length to be transported securely. *Items of up to 3.0 metres can be carried in the L1 (short wheelbase). A small detail goes a long way. 3.4 metres to be precise. The Transit Custom L2 (long wheelbase) can carry a range of 3.4 metre long items, thanks to its clever load-through bulkhead. (Standard) The flat load floor and near vertical walls help you make the most of all that space. A tough vinyl load floor liner provides a highly durable surface that’s easy to clean after the work is done. (Easy To Clean Load Floor is standard on Trend, Limited and Sport (vans only), option on ECOnetic and Base (vans only)) Class-leading loadspace There’s no compromise in the most vital consideration for your work: maximising your loadspace and the ease with which you can use it. ■ From 6.0 to 8.3 cubic metres of space (L1 H1 to L2 H2) ■ Side-mounted DIN/ISO compliant cargo tie-down points ■ 3 Europallet capability ■ Full-height or half-height hardboard lining ■ 3.4 metre load length with load-through bulkhead (3.0 m ■ Easy To Clean Load Floor in L1). Provides an extra 90-litres of space 6
90 ° Unique rear door check arms mean the doors can be locked open at 90 degrees for easy access to the loadspace, even in windy conditions or if you’re parked on a slope. High-visibility decals on the door edges warn other road users of your van’s presence. ° 180 If required, the rear doors can be opened to 180 degrees*, when the check arms are unlocked. (Van and Double Cab-in-Van only) Load access made easy. With low side and rear load heights, a pallet-sized sliding door on both the driver (option) and passenger sides, plus wide opening rear doors with 180° hinges*, Transit Custom lets you make the most of all that space. Fitted interior lights (two in L1, four in L2) provide superior loadspace visibility, while super-bright LED lighting** is offered for the first time, with four high-output lights illuminating the interior for a more comfortable working environment. (Option) ■ Rear doors lockable at 90° ■ Side-mounted tie-downs ■ Low rear step-in height to load area ■ 3-metre load length with load-through bulkhead ■ LED loadspace lighting (option)** (3.4 m in L2) ■ High-visibility reflective decals on rear door edges ■ Dual sliding side load doors (option) Transit Custom’s low rear load height makes getting things in and out as easy *Kombi M1 rear doors open to 90° only. as possible. **Not available on Kombi. 9
How the Transit Custom ‘thinks’ about your cargo. The size and position of a vehicle’s load can affect its braking, traction, cornering ability and roll-over tendency. Load Adaptive Control, part of Transit Custom’s Electronic Stability Control (ESC), identifies changes in the vehicle’s mass and centre of gravity, and adapts the safety systems to optimise braking effectiveness, traction and stability. ESC keeps everything on the right track. Transit Custom’s standard ESC automatically adjusts power and braking to keep the vehicle on the right track. The system also features Hill Start Assist (HSA) as standard, making it easier to pull away on a slope without the need to use the handbrake. 10
