Foreword By the FEI President It is my pleasure to welcome you to Wellington where, together, we will kick-start this new Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ 2019 season. Over the next few days, we will have some of the world's finest sport horses and athletes unite to showcase their talent and team spirit. They are competing not just for honours here in Wellington, this is also an opportunity to earn valuable points for their nation to qualify for the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Final which will, as per tradition, take place in Barcelona in the first week of September and include the world’s very best Jumping teams. This year will be the second year that we have our title partner Longines on board for this historic series, and we are thrilled to continue to increase the global visibility and outreach of equestrian sport together. We will once again travel the world, with action-packed qualifiers paving the road to Barcelona; the journey commences here in Wellington (USA) and passes through Coapexpan (MEX) and Dublin (IRL), only to name a few, before crowning the world’s best nation at the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Final in Barcelona (ESP) from 3 to 6 October 2019. In existence for over 100 years, the Nations Cup™ represents the very best of equestrian sport and values; teamwork, courage, trust, communication and horsemanship. This is what equestrianism is about and this is also why we are unique in the sporting landscape and continue to spread our reach around the world appealing to new and existing fans of all ages and backgrounds. With competitions of the highest standard, the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ series is a real crowd pleaser, and over the years, the dynamic, edge of your seat competition has provided extraordinary moments and unforgettable memories. On behalf of the Fédération Equestre Internationale, I want to take this opportunity to thank the Organising Committee for the great collaboration and I would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to all those who have dedicated their time, commitment and support to the successful running of this event, allowing individuals around the world to engage first-hand with FEI Jumping. To the athletes, the chefs d’equipes and the invaluable support teams who are here representing their nation, I wish you and your teams the very best of luck! And lastly, to all the fans, I hope you enjoy every minute our sport has to offer. Ingmar De Vos FEI President
