The initial booster group served the JHS band, choir and drama programs, but since then, it has been expanded to include dance and the Heatherwood Middle School band and choir. “Technically, it is one booster group,” says Moffat, “but each sub-group works to serve the needs of the program. Our band boosters help with fundraising in the form of auctions, golf tournaments, soirees, concessions, jazz festivals, and go-fund-me type projects. They also serve as the volunteer labor we so desperately need at our concerts and festivals. They help with shopping, transportation, clean up, anything we need to get the job done.
