 Tournament Details
First Aid: a basic first aid kit will be available on site.
Estimated arrival and start times: We will endeavour to keep the day running as closely as
possible to the scheduled times stated in the draws.
All teams need to be at the venue for check in at 9am Sunday the 19th of May.
Games will start at 10:00am and continue through to the evening.

Tournament format/game times (TBC): All matches will be timed, best of 3 sets, pool
play. The first two sets will be played to 25 and the third and final set will be played to 15.
All sets must have a two point margin. Teams must swap ends at the end of each set.
Teams need to be at their court 10 minutes before the start of their games. The time on the draw is
the start of the game time. If a team does not show up to a match, their match is deemed a forfeit.
Finals Matches: Finals matches will be untimed, best of 5 sets, elimination.

Duty teams: Should a duty team not arrive for an allocated duty before a replacement has
been arranged, they shall forfeit their next match. If that team has no pool games left to play
for the day, they shall forfeit their previous best result for the day. Volleyball SA will
provide a top referee. Teams must supply a 2nd referee and a scorer.
Uniforms: Your team must be in a matching top and similar coloured shorts. It is
encouraged that your team wears your Nations colours (get creative!).
Rules of the game: Unless otherwise stated in this document, all teams will play by the most
current FIVB volleyball rules.
The Tournament Director reserves the right to change or amend any of the above regulations
at any time at his/her digression, provided it be within the interest of the competition/sport.
By entering in this competition, you agree to abide by the Players and coaches’ code of
behaviour found below.

Players: Code of Behaviour

  1. Respect the rights dignity and worth of others.
  2. Be fair, considerate and honest in all dealing with others.
  3. Be professional in, and accept responsibility for your actions.
  4. Make a commitment to providing quality service.
  5. Demonstrate a high degree of individual responsibility especially when dealing with
     persons under 18 years of age, as your words and actions are an example.
  6. Be aware of, and maintain an uncompromising adhesion to Volleyball Australia
     standards, rules, regulations and policies.
  7. Operate within the rules of Volleyball Australia including national policies and
     guidelines which govern Volleyball Australia and the Member States.
  8. Understand your responsibility if you breach, or are aware of any breaches of this
     Code of Behaviour.
  9. Do not use your involvement with Volleyball Australia, a Member State or a State
     Affiliate to promote your own beliefs, behaviours or practices where these are
     inconsistent with those of Volleyball Australia, the Member States or the State
      Affiliates.
  10. Avoid unaccompanied and unobserved activities with persons under 18 years of age,
     wherever possible.
  11. Refrain from any form of abuse towards others.
  12. Refrain from any form of harassment towards, or discrimination of, others.
  13. Provide a safe environment for the conduct of the activity.
  14. Show concern and caution towards others who may be sick or injured. 15. Be a
     positive role model

Coaches: Code of Behaviour

  1. Be fair, considerate and honest in all dealing with others.
  2. Be professional in, and accept responsibility for your actions. Your language,
     presentation, manners and punctuality should reflect high standards.
  3. Demonstrate a high degree of individual responsibility especially when dealing with
     persons under 18 years of age, as your words and actions are an example.
  4. Resolve conflicts fairly and promptly through established procedures.
  5. Maintain strict impartiality.
  6. Maintain a safe environment for you and others.
  7. Ensure you are aware of your obligations to provide a child safe environment - this
     includes Risk Management, Child Safe Policy, appropriate screening of
     staff/volunteers and mandatory notification obligations of certain people in the
     organization. Complete the online training on www.playbytherules.net.au.
  8. Ensure your association/club is accessible for all to participate.
  9. Create pathways for young people to participate in your club - give them “a say “on
     decisions that affect them, provide leadership opportunities and most importantly
     listen to them.
  10. Ensure that the types of programs, rules, equipment, length of games and training
      schedules are modified to suit the age, ability and maturity level of young players.
  11. Provide quality supervision and instruction for junior players -ensure volunteers are
      adequately trained.
  12. Direct coaches and officials to highlight appropriate behaviour and skill
      development.
  13. Ensure that everyone emphasizes fair play - not winning at all costs.
  14. Give a code of behaviour sheet to spectators, officials, parents, coaches and players
      encourage them to follow it.
  15. Develop where appropriate and distribute codes of behaviour for other volunteers –
      this may include team managers and sport trainers and first-aid staff.
  16. Remember, you set an example - your behaviour and comments should be positive
      and supportive.
  17. Implement policy and practices (and lead by example) - in relation to responsible
      use of alcohol and in relation to recreational and performance enhancing drugs.
  18. Adopt and implement relevant sport safety policies and practices.
  19. Promote a culturally tolerant environment.
  20. Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants - regardless of their gender,
      ability, cultural background or religion.
  21. Be aware of your legal responsibilities
