UQ GATTON Our rural campus is located near the town of Gatton, 87 kilometres west of downtown Brisbane. It offers a laid back and friendly lifestyle, world-class teaching and research facilities, farms, a community garden and sports facilities. Food and retail You can buy food and drinks from the Coffee Cart, Dining Hall and Walkway Café, and you can purchase and sell books at our retail bookshops. There is an on-campus ATM and a post office, and keep an eye out for the regular Walkway Markets attended by local growers and suppliers. Green thumbs Two campus farms house animals, horticultural fields, a plant nursery, post-harvest facilities, research laboratories, greenhouses, and plenty of machinery. Grow your own herbs and vegetables in the campus community garden. Fitness Gatton’s gym has a weights room and offers fitness classes every week. You can go for a swim in the 25-metre pool or grab a friend and head to the squash courts, tennis courts, the indoor sports hall or one of three ovals. Library Gatton’s two-level library features computers, 24-hour study spaces, a phone friendly space, group rooms and adjustable workstations. Free intercampus bus service UQ provides a free intercampus bus service between UQ Gatton and UQ St Lucia for students and staff. UQ HERSTON This campus is located in the heart of Brisbane’s health district. It is home to our Medicine and Public Health schools, the Queensland Institute of Medical Research, UQ’s Centre for Clinical Research and the Oral Health Centre. Next door is the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute. There is a bank on campus, ATMs, a gift shop, a pharmacy, a post office, newsagency, food stores and a bookshop. Herston’s Health Sciences library features computers, group and individual rooms, 24-hour study spaces, a consultation room, and access to the Queensland Health network. FIND A UQ COURSE Go to uq.edu.au/study STEP Enter a search term in the search bar – you can search by course code or area of 1 interest – and choose ‘Courses’ from the drop down menu on the right hand side to explore available courses.
