The South West and South Wales is a large region comprising of both rural and densely
populated areas spanning: Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and
South Wales. Each area has differing geographical or industry factors that influence

HFC given a £2M Capital Kickstart
Once complete the Hall for Cornwall is expected to bring over £35
million to the Cornish economy in the first five years and create 165
jobs; and play an important role in our post-pandemic economic

UK's largest stove manufacturer plans huge new Exeter factory
A global stove and fireplace manufacturer is to build a major factory at
Exeter’s growing £210million Skypark development near the City’s
airport. Read more
Cornish Lithium steps up production plans after £2.3m licensing deal
The company prospecting for valuable battery mineral lithium in
Cornwall will step up plans for a production facility after paying
£2.3million for new technological processes. Read more
Major Bristol office development set to create more than 1,000 jobs during
construction
The building is being constructed by Bristol-based BAM Construction
and is expected to open in the first quarter of 2023. According to CEG,
more than 500 construction jobs will be created each year during the
two-year build programme as well as six local apprenticeship

Delivery management firm Whistl to move after 15 years to huge new South
Gloucestershire depot - and plans to hire
The site, at Patchway near Bristol, is currently under development and
will be used for the company’s business mail and parcel collection, and
sorting operations for the South West. The move to the larger space will
also see the company launch a recruitment drive in the New Year for
new job opportunities in the office, depot and transport areas, Whistl

Openreach to Create More Than 100 New Welsh Jobs
Openreach has bucked the prevailing economic trend by creating at
least 108 new Welsh-based engineering jobs to be filled during 2021,
alongside more roles in its supply chain. The new roles, in places like
Denbighshire, Ceredigion, Monmouthshire and Vale of Glamorgan will
enable the company to continue improving service levels across its
existing networks, while building and connecting customers to its new,
ultrafast, ultra-reliable ‘Full Fibre’ broadband network at a record pace.

The Welsh Government’s unique Economic Resilience Fund (ERF) has helped
protect 257 jobs at a Pontypool car parts manufacturer
ZF Automotive UK Limited, which is an important employer in the area
and supplies parts to leading car brands across the world, has been hit
hard by the coronavirus pandemic. To support the company and its
workers through these incredibly difficult times, the Welsh Government
has provided £267,000 to help with cashflow and protect the
livelihoods of staff. Read more

MilDef, who are based in Cardiff, will provide rugged electronics such
as Crewstation PCs, servers and ethernet switches for the Boxer
armoured fighting vehicles under a £20m subcontract awarded to
them by RBSL and Rheinmetall. The contract is expected to sustain
and create around a dozen Welsh jobs and will secure further
development of MilDef’s manufacturing facilities in the city over the

Welsh Rugby Legends Launch New Coffee Business
The quartet of rugby legends known in their heyday as the ‘Fab Four’
are dealing with grounds of a different variety with the launch of a new
business venture that will also raise funds for Velindre Cancer Centre
in Cardiff. Coffee lovers Shane Williams, Mike Phillips, James Hook and
Lee Byrne have gone from the Beatles to beans with flavours that
reflect their individual characters and attributes as players.

Admiral agree £500m deal to sell Confused.com
Admiral, with offices in Newport, Cardiff and Swansea, told investors
on Tuesday that it has agreed to sell the Penguin Portals arm, which
also includes Rastreator.com and LeLynx.fr and the group’s technology
operation and its 50 per cent share in Preminen Price Comparison

Cwmbran glass recycling firm signs five-year deal with insulation business
Glass recycling company Recresco has secured a five-year contract to
supply Torfaen-based Knauf Insulation with high quality glass cullet
from its Cwmbran site. Under the deal, glass from commercial and
residential collections from Torfaen Council and the wider community,
and reprocessed at the state-of-the-art Recresco site will serve Knauf
Insulation for the manufacture of mineral wool insulation.
