Fáilte Cllr David Healy, Mayor of Fingal Fingal has an amazing network of public libraries across the county and this brochure produced by Fingal Libraries is a great way for the people of Fingal to find out about the many amazing online library services and events that continue to be available to them. The Covid-19 restrictions have been very difficult over the Winter months, so this Libraries Spring programme of events provides many ideas for the whole family to make the most of their leisure time. This Spring, Fingal Libraries are very much highlighting the Cocooning Library service. This book delivery service is available to all residents of Fingal who are cocooning at home due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. You will find the details on how to avail of this service on page 4 of this brochure. The Cocooning library service works hand in hand with Fingal County Council’s Community Call Helpline to support those in our community who are most vulnerable, and I am delighted to support and promote these two very worthy public services. Welcome AnnMarie Farrelly, Chief Executive, Fingal County Council I want to welcome you to our Fingal Libraries Spring programme of events brochure. While the doors to our library buildings may be closed, we are continuing with the services we offer albeit online. This Spring our varied events programme will encourage you to act on your New Year’s resolution whether it be taking up Yoga Classes, learning to do Macramé or to simply read more books, it’s all there ready for you to enjoy. This programme of events is in line with the Government’s Keep Well campaign that is aimed at showing people of all ages how we can mind our own physical and mental health and wellbeing by adding healthy and helpful habits to our daily and weekly routines. Fingal Libraries e-services are highlighted on pages 14 – 17 including everything from borrowing a book to taking up language classes, available to access for free, all you need is a Fingal library card. There are 3 live webinars focussing on newly published books where the author will read from their work with a Q&A session afterwards. You will find booking details for these events on pages 5 and 11. This Spring we continue to highlight our Work Matters at the Library programme with a series of online videos on topics such as ‘Working from Home during Covid-19’. There is something for everyone in this brochure and I do hope that you and your family will enjoy participating in some of the events. Earrach i Leabharlanna Fhine Gall Spring in Fingal Libraries 3
