With this edition of Dollars and Sense: a guide to employer training credits, incentives and supports, The Algoma Workforce Investment Corporation (AWIC) has gathered information from a variety of government and agency sources including websites and current publications. AWIC is committed to providing relevant workforce information to employers in order to help individuals get the training, skills and experience they need to achieve their career goals. This guide is meant to show that there are many tax credits, wage incentives, programs and resources available to help employers make their workplaces more efficient, productive and cost effective. In addition to the incentives and supports listed in this guide, Employment Ontario Employment Service Provid¬ers are available to assist employers through every step of the hiring process by listing job opportunities, suggesting qualified candidates and by providing incentive/wage subsidy information. The EO Employment Service Provid¬ers are a valuable resource and a list of the local services, as well as other employment services are listed in this guide. MÉTIS YOUTH PROGRAM (MYP) What is it? What’s in it for me? CO-OPERATIVE EDUCATION TAX CREDIT (PROVINCIAL) What is it? The Co-operative Education Tax Credit (Provincial) is a refundable tax credit for businesses hiring students enrolled in a recognized post-secondary co-operative education program.
