Faith Over may publisher’s note Fear As I write this note on March 25th, we are all living in uncertainty in our country over coro- navirus. By the time you read this, it may be getting better or we may be at a higher level of quarantine. There is no way to know for sure right now. Things are changing by the day. One thing I do know is that in the face of any uncertainty it’s necessary to have faith in the future that things will get better. Having spiritual faith is an enormous help to many of us and so is faith in ourselves, our leaders and our community. We need to do our part and God will do the part that only HE can do! We have a great opportunity to help people right now. Help our families. Help our friends and neighbors. A time to give and a time to serve. We all have special skills and talents to make the world a better and brighter place. Reach out today and let someone know you’re there for them. Ease their fear and make them feel safe. We are grateful more than ever for our local business sponsors in Glade Living! They are ALL essential to our community as they provide their various profes- sional services and quality products to us in this time of need. Let’s keep them at the top of our prayer list and partner with them as they have partnered with us for the last two years. Hopefully by the time you read this, things will have settled down and back to a state of “normal”. If not, I have a strong faith that we will be ok and Glade Springs will be a strong example of what commu- nity is all about. BOB 14 Glade Living • May 2020 May 2020 • Glade Living 15

They brought Teddy home, planning to place him in a new home through a dog rescue; but Teddy let the Fernald twins climb all over him and cuddle into his soft fur. He was so good with the twins that the family decided to give him his forever home. True to his Lab roots, Teddy is easygoing and submissive. He loves to gather bones in his mouth like a chipmunk and gradually treat Olaf himself to his cache. He also delights in guarding his kingdom by peering out over the neighborhood from Lauren’s castle bed. If you would like to feature your Precious Pet please contact Bob Coburn at bob.coburn@n2pub.com Gracie, the 7-year-old Weimaraner, is the middle fur child. Gracie is a big exuberant dog with a personality to match. True to her Wei- maraner origins, Gracie is a velcro dog or “Gray Ghost” who sticks to the side of her people at all times, like a shadow. She is happiest when physically touching a family member and she never diverts her striking green eyes from those she loves. Weimaraners are German hunting dogs, bred by German nobility to hunt large bear and deer. It is a beautiful sight to watch Gracie point the many deer who pass through her yard. She doesn’t hurt them, but promptly alerts everyone when one enters her property. Gracie has gone to battle with a groundhog, a mole, and a skunk (the skunk won). She also has John, Lauren and Olaf learned that pointing her treat cabinet in the kitchen proves quite fruitful. The Fernalds are Weimaraner devotees, working with the DC Weimaraner Rescue to help Weims in need.
