Missions In Focus Thankful for the Gift of Water! Dear Family and Friends, Most of us in America take water for granted, indoor plumbing, drinking out of the tap, and taking long showers are a luxury that most of us rarely think twice about, but in many parts of Africa access to clean water is rare and elusive. To help meet the demand for clean water in Rwanda, authorities are now re- quiring pubic buildings to install rainwater catchment systems to provide clean water for the population and to cut down on erosion from runoff. This require- ment, if not met, will mean the churches without water catchment systems to be closed. Most Rwandans are subsistence farmers, cultivating a small portion of land and making ends meet day to day. They do not have any margin for unex- pected expenses such as this. Currently, more than 50 of our Rwanda Pente- costal Assemblies of God churches have been closed or are being threat- ened with closure due to increased government regulations. One of their big- gest hurdles is their inability to afford a water catchment system. Together with the Africa Oasis Project, are doing what we can do help pro- vide the finances to help reopen some of these closed churches by helping them get a quality water catchment system installed on their church. A typi- cal system costs around $1,500 per church. If you would like help to contribute to this clean water effort, please let us know. You can send your contribution to Assemblies of God World Missions 1445 N. Boonville Ave. Springfield, MO 65802 marked Rwanda Water Project #15804. Thanks so much for your continued prayers and support in seeing the gospel shared in East Africa not only through preaching, but through compassion. Blessings, Nate & Tammy Lashway - missionaries to Africa Water catchment is a great way to have drinkable water.
