DAVENPORT IOWA 2021
New Year..New Hope.
On behalf of my family, I would like to welcome you to the
2021 season at Tribute National Talent Competition as we
celebrate our 10th year. I feel so blessed to have the
opportunity to host our event for you this weekend and to
see all the wonderful teachers, dancers and families. We
have been looking forward to this moment when we can
all come together once again to share in the joy and
excitement that dance truly provides for us all.
Over the last year we have seen so many changes in our
lives. Who could have imagined that we would experience
a pandemic that would impact each and every one of us
in some way? The challenges that we have all had to
overcome during these times of uncertainty have been
unprecedented. So many restrictions and guidelines that
have been implemented, especially those that have kept
us from seeing those we love, have not been easy. With
each passing day, we try not to focus on the past and what
we have been through, rather looking ahead with hope
and optimism for only great things to come.

The important decisions that have been made and continue to be made to get us back to a sense of normalcy
are a true example of courage and strength. I have seen and heard so many stories of how studio owners and
teachers have had to make so many adjustments just to keep their dance studios in business. The determination,
creativity and confidence they have shared has been an inspiration to us all. For the dancers, the dance studio
has become even more important than ever before. Providing children of all ages a place to share their love of
dance with their friends and teachers while using dance as a way to take their minds off of these ever-changing
times. Things around us continue to change on a daily basis and at times can still be a challenge. However, it
has given all of us the opportunity to support one another and work together to overcome any obstacles. I have
so much respect and admiration for all of the studio owners and teachers who have worked so hard to do
whatever they can for their students and for the future of their dance studios.
Parents, I know that for many of you some of the decisions you have had to make for your families have not
been easy. Since last March, as parents we have all experienced situations that in our lifetime, we thought would
never take place. Our children look to us for protection and guidance and in the end all we truly want is for them
to be happy, healthy and safe. If we look for a positive in all of this, we can be thankful for the extra time we
have had together as a family. Even with the ups and downs, we can continue to find a way to stay strong and
share love and encouragement so that together we can see better days ahead and I am confident we will.
In closing, I just want to take this opportunity to thank all of the dance teachers, parents and families for having
faith and confidence in me, my family and my staff to attend Tribute this season. Our goal will always be to
provide a safe environment for those who come to our events knowing that we will do everything we can to make
you feel comfortable and appreciated. On behalf of the Tribute family, we hope you have a wonderful experience
and when you leave that you know how much you are appreciated. We consider it a huge honor and privilege to
be your host and are very humbled by your continued support of our small family business. Now more than ever
we will continue to do our part to focus on what we can do for others as we keep you all in our thoughts and
prayers for a brighter tomorrow.

DRESSING ROOMS - Dressing Rooms will be on a rotation between backstage and 1st and 2nd
floor meeting rooms (see circled). Please note the entrance door locations for your assigned entry
point. Entrance 1 is the main entrance to the theater and Entrance 2 is the atrium area between the
Adler and Blackhawk.

SEATING LAYOUT - To allow for us to focus on a limited area to clean and sanitize between studios,
we are using the two center sections ONLY and not the outside sections or balcony as shown below.
In addition, rows will be blocked for social distancing requirements.
Parking Ramps Pay at the pay stations located in the ramp, or use the Parkmobile App. Hourly/Daily – $1 for two hours, $2 for four hours, $3 for six hours, $4 for eight hours, $5 for twelve hours. The maximum daily rate is $10. Park for free in the ramps on the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Easter, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Maggie Geisz
Maggi has been dancing since the age of 3 and has been involved with Charmette for 2 8
years—15 years as a student under the direction of Angie Klevorn and Margie Rowe and
13 years as teacher and choreographer. She is also an Assistant Director of the Stars of
Tomorrow Dance Company.
As a choreographer, her numbers have received many high scores and other awards
regionally, as well as nationally. Furthering her knowledge of dance and teaching has
become a passion for Miss Maggi. She has had the privilege of training with professionals
through Dance Masters of America, Broadway Dance Center, the Millenium Dance
Complex, The Edge, including Dennis Caspary, Sheila Barker, Patrice Barakat -Corral and
Nikki Snelson. She has performed at Disney World, The MUNY, Variety Club telethon,
television commercials, Destination Dance, and Off Broadway productions. She enjoys
traveling the country as a choreographer, master teacher, and judge.
Miss Maggi attended the University of Tennessee and graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor
of Arts in Psychology. During her time at UT, she was a member of the 5 -Time Universal
Dance Association National Champion Dance Team. She was also featured in the 2009
Monday Night Football commercial on ESPN with the UT Dance Team. After graduating
from UT, Miss Maggi went on to work and perform with the Walt Disney World
Entertainment Department in Orlando, Florida.
Miss Maggi is a member of Chapter #21 St. Louis Dancing Teachers Association of Dance
Masters of America, as well as a certified Zumba instructo r. In 2015, she earned her Master
of Arts in School Counseling K-12 and currently serves as an Elementary School Counselor
in the Lindbergh School District. Miss Maggi is also the Head Coach of the Lindbergh
Flyerettes Dance Team.

Sue has been the Owner/Artistic Director of The Rhythm Room Dance Center in
Jefferson, Iowa since 1992. She conducts classes each day in her studio for dancers
of all ages working with all styles of dance at both the recreational and competitive
level. This allows her the ability to provide realistic and obtainable educational
critiques for all the dancers she will see perform on stage this weekend. She has
studied with Dance Masters of America as well as Dance Educators of America and
continues to host all genres of guest master teachers in her studio each and every
year. Sue has served as competitive judge for the past 18 years and will share her
personal and professional comments to help inspire all of the dancers. She looks
forward to watching all of the dancers shine on stage and wishes all of the studios a
wonderful competition experience this weekend at Tribute.

Tera is an award-winning teacher, choreographer and judge from Orlando, FL. She
has taught and choreographed for several studios across the country and is currently
teaching at Integrity Dance Center in Winter Springs, FL. Tera began teaching in
2001 and took over as owner/director of Deltona Dance Academy aka The Dance
PAD in 2003. She was a studio owner for over 9 years and her students have been
awarded many regional and national top awards at competitions and conventions
across the country. She has received recognition for her choreography at numerous
competitions over the years. Tera has years of judging experience and has judged
for several large competitions across the country. Her extensive background in
dance gives her the opportunity to share her comments and critiques with teachers
and dancers alike. She is honored to be judging for Tribute.

I am so excited to celebrate this weekend at Tribute with you. I am grateful for each and every one of you! This past year has been
very challenging for everyone, but we all made it to this moment where we are able to watch the dancers on stage and sit in an
audience to take it all in.
Parents, you are able to see all of that hard work, time, and energy that your children have put into dance. Sit back, relax, and enjoy
as you see each dancer light up the stage. Don't be afraid to cheer them on as that gives them energy! Thank you for believing in
Forte and continuing to be part of this adventure. I am grateful beyond words for you.
Dancers, I can't wait to see you all hit the stage and do what you love! You have all been so dedicated throughout this whole year
and have done the work. You have shown up and worked as a team to prepare for your time on stage. You have navigated through
this year with grace and grit. You have shown each other love and respect and worked as a team to prepare for your time on stage.

Faculty, I know it has been a bumpy road for you, but you have done the hard work and reinvented what it is like to teach dance,
choreograph, and clean dances when you have students virtually and in a hybrid situation. I know it has not been easy, but you
ladies did a remarkable job, and I could not be more proud of you. Thank you for doing whatever it takes to make it happen always.
Tribute Team, thank you for doing all that you are doing to provide this SAFE experience for our dancers and their families. Thank

your support, patience, understanding, hard work and never-ending love of dance! We take to the stage today, TOGETHER,
stronger, more loving and more appreciative of this thing that binds us all together.Parents, thank you for your trust. It has been the
hardest year of our lives and yet we came together and worked to keep our kids dancing, supported, safe and happy. Dancers, to
say I am proud of each of you is an understatement. Each of you has grown this season, maybe more than ever before. I think we
all look at our time together with more revernece and respect now. I know that stepping on that stage today will bring about every
emotion. Let them all come, let them fill you up and then share your beauty, your creativity, your truth with everyone watching.
Cherish your moments, honor your work and effort, support your teammates and make this day a day of celebrating all that is
beautiful, good and true in each of you. I am abundantly proud of you and love each of you so much!

I always say that we have THE BEST dance families. This past year has proved that statement to be true several times over! We
are so thankful to be able to teach our students and be able to remain a constant in their lives. One of the best things to come out
of this past year is hearing their laughter and watching them shine.
