JUNIOR JUDGING COMPETITION Saturday, June 30th, 2018 9:00 a.m. Rotary Arena Chair people: Ben Fox/Tere Stykalo Possible judging classes: Beef, Sheep, Horse (Light), Horse (Heavy) Judging competition will include both written placings (5 classes) and oral reasons (2 classes) 1-3rd place individual in each age category and 1-3rd place team awards Dauphin Ag Society & Committee have final say on any Rules & Regulations. Proper animal handling guidelines are to be adhered to. Individual Competition (Entry Fee: $5.00): 50 Peewee Judging (Aged 4-8 years as of January 1, 2018) 51 Junior Judging (Aged 9 – 11 years as of January 1, 2018) 52 Intermediate Judging (Aged 12 – 14 years as of January 1, 2018) 53 Senior Judging (Aged 15 – 21 years as of January 1, 2018) Team Competition (Entry Fee: $20.00): 54 Team Judging Each team is made up of 4 members, with at least one Junior and/or Intermediate member required per team All team members will be in the same 4H club
OPEN SHEEP JACKPOT SHOW Saturday, June 30 th, 2018 1:00 p.m. Rotary Arena Chair people: Ben Fox/Linda Fox/Tere Stykalo Market Lambs are to be slick shorn with less than a ¼" of fleece. Dauphin Ag Society & Committee have final say on any Rules & Regulations. Proper animal handling guidelines are to be adhered to. Champion Market Lamb and Champion Ewe Lamb winners will not qualify for the Junior Sheep Show. All junior sheep show entry fees will be refunded to the Open Jackpot Champion Market Lamb and Champion Ewe Lamb. Class 100 Market Lamb Jackpot Market Lamb must be born in the calendar year. Showmanship Classes: Entry Fee $2.50 202 Showmanship - Junior (Aged 9-11 years as of January 1, 2018) 203 Showmanship - Intermediate (Aged 12 – 14 years as of January 1, 2018) 204 Showmanship - Senior (Aged 15 – 21 years as of January 1, 2018) Top Showman from each class will return to the ring for Overall Showman Champion 205 Peewee Showmanship (Aged 4-8 years as at January 1, 2018) - no entry fee Medallions sponsored by Winn Man Farms
GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. All entries must be in by noon Monday, June 25, 2018. *** Early Entries: if entries are in by noon on Monday, June 18, exhibitors will be entered to win their entry fee back to a maximum of $100 2. Livestock Entries: if prepaid, meaning paid by 12 noon on Monday, June 25 one free three-day gate pass per animal will be given to livestock exhibitors, to a maximum of 6 passes, based on stall fees of $10 per head. Entries must be prepaid. ***Regular gate passes of $15 per day will apply after Monday at noon. ***Cash or Cheque will be accepted. There will be no Visa. *NEW – if you would like to pay by e- transfer please e-mail dauphinagsociety@hotmail.ca for the security question and answer. ***Everyone will be required to wear an “Admission Bracelet”. 3. All entry forms must be accompanied by a cheque or Visa number for the full amount. Cheque to be made payable to Dauphin Agricultural Society. 4. In the absence of competition in any section or if the stock exhibited shall be of inferior quality, the judges shall award only such premiums as they think the article or stock merits. 5. Stock must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor or his authorized agent. 6. Exhibits that have been erroneously entered may, at the discretion of the judges or director in charge, be transferred to the proper classes, previous to the judging. 7. All animals entered in the Dauphin Fair Cattle Show must be on the grounds at the disposal of the managing committees by the following: Animals for the Saturday Show must enter through Cattle gate which is directly east of the Rotary Arena (on 1st Ave SE) and are not allowed on the grounds until AFTER 7 P.M. on Friday June 29 (Exhibitors showing up earlier will be subject to delays and waiting on the streets around fairgrounds) but must be in by 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, June30th. 8. Exhibitors not complying with this rule or any other shall, if so decided by the directors, forfeit all prizes awarded to them and the right to exhibit at future exhibitions of this society. Please let us know if you will be arriving early. 9. There will be no loading of livestock or trailer movement until 7:00 pm on Saturday, June 30th. Exhibitors must leave by designated gate only. Violation of these rules may result in forfeitures of prize money and possible fines. 10. All animals competing for championships must have been shown previously in a regular classes 11. First straw will be provided by the Dauphin Ag Society. There will be no straw or hay for sale on the grounds except if pre-ordered. All stalls must be kept clean. 12. Tie-racks will be allotted as entries are received. 13. Any animal that is uncontrollable (flighty, wild or otherwise) will not be permitted to show. 14. All 4-H members must comply with 4-H Safety Guidelines in regards to attire and equipment when participating in the 4-H Show. The Dauphin Ag Society Beef Committee has final decision. 15. No person will be allowed to interfere with the Judges at any time. Should any exhibitor so interfere, he or she will forfeit all claims to any premiums to which they might otherwise be entitled. The judge’s decision is final. 16. Should any fraud, deception, or dishonest practice be discovered on the part of any exhibitor, the Board of Directors may withhold any prize awarded, and may prohibit any exhibitor for exhibiting for such time as the Board may determine, and may publish the name of such exhibitor should they deem it proper to do so.
17. Any exhibitor lodging a protest must make such protest in writing and deliver to the Secretary on the day the protested award is made, accompanied by a deposit of $5.00. Should the protest be successful, the $5.00 will be returned. 18. Camping spots are available on the fair grounds. A fee of $15.00 will be charged for electrical outlets available for campers on the fairgrounds during the fair. Exhibitors must provide description, length, etc. of their unit on their entry form. Exhibitors will be able to find out their camper stall # by inquiring at the barn when they arrive on the grounds. 19. No visitors to the Fair Grounds of the Society nor any person or persons, firm or corporation, of theirs or its agents, representatives, servants and or employees, having holdings or enjoying any license or privilege to exhibit at any time on the fair grounds of the Society, or occupying any space therein for exhibition or any other purposes shall have any claim or right to claim for damages arising from or as a result of any injury or injuries to any person or persons or to any property while on the Fair Grounds of the Society, nor shall any claim or demand in respect thereof, ever be made, nor shall any suit against the Society in respect thereof be instituted or maintained. 20. If any damage, loss of injury to person or property shall be caused by reason of neglect or wilful act of any person, firm or corporation, or their agents, representatives, servants or employees, having license or privilege to exhibit on said Fair Grounds or occupying any space therein the Dauphin Agricultural Society shall in no manner be responsible therefore, and in case it be subjected to any expense or liability, all persons causing or liable thereof shall indemnify the said Society. 21. No Trailers (unless they have living quarters) will be allowed to park in campgrounds. NO HORSES or CATTLE TO BE TIED IN CAMPGROUND. 22. Exhibitors will be allowed to unload vehicles by barns but then are required to park all vehicles in the assigned parking area. Each Exhibitor will be allocated one vehicle pass. Vehicles without vehicle passes will not be allowed to park on fair grounds. 23. Ribbon Recycling Program - If you would like to recycle your ribbons, the Dauphin Ag society will pay you the following: Flat ribbon = $0.25 each and Rosette = $2.00 each. All ribbons must be in excellent condition. Please take to them to the office and the money will be added to your prize money. Cattle/Sheep Gate The Cattle/Sheep Gate is located on 1st Ave SE and will only be open for moving cattle and sheep in and out. Your cooperation is appreciated NOTICE The Directors reserve the right to limit the total prize list to an amount equal to the net receipts after payment of all expenses. In the event of the net receipts after payment of all expenses being insufficient to permit the prize list being paid in full, each prize will be reduced pro rata accordingly and all entries are received on this understanding.
