Welcome to the ICOI Winter Implant
Symposium in Phoenix, Arizona

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is with great pleasure that
I welcome you to Phoenix Arizona
for the ICOI Winter Implant
Symposium. Phoenix is the capitol
and the most populous city of Arizona
and I hope you will enjoy all that this
vibrant desert city has to offer.

The long term clinical success of an implant restoration is often dependent on
restoratively driven implant placement. As such creating an ideal implant site is
usually the first step of implant therapy. There are a multitude of techniques and
materials available to the clinician for soft and hard tissue regeneration in the
development of an implant site. This meeting will focus on the latest techniques
and technologies available for creating the ideal implant site.

Attendees can start off Thursday morning attending one of the multiple
pre-symposium lectures and hands-on workshops. The ICOI Winter Implant
Symposium officially opens Thursday afternoon with the main podium scientific
session featuring outstanding speakers from North America and abroad. The
focus of the lectures will be creating the ideal implant site. Topics will range from
single implant site hard and soft tissue regeneration to full arch rehabilitation.
The program continues Thursday evening with the very popular Tabletop and
Poster Presentations where colleagues from far and near share their knowledge
and skill.

The scientific sessions continue Friday morning with another exceptional line-up
of speakers from all corners of the globe. Attendees will benefit from the
decades of implant experience and knowledge from these world-renowned

Increase Your Implant Practice Utilizing Predictable Sinus Lift
Techniques with the Use of Platelet Aggregate Products (PRF/PRP)
A sure-fire way to increase your implant practice is here! One of the most common
areas in need of implant restorations is that of the upper molars. This area however
most often presents complications due to lack of adequate alveolar bone and a very
low sinus needing to be augmented. The time to stop missing out on this very lucrative
implant area is now. Augmenting the sinus is a very predictable method of preparing
the posterior maxilla for an implant. Join us and learn the science and the technique
of several methods in lifting the sinus in conjunction with the use of platelet aggregate
 products (PRF/PRP) for increased success.

 Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, attendees will have an understanding of:
 • Basic Phlebotomy • Crestal Approach Sinus Augmentation

Lateral Maxillary Sinus Floor Elevation Course
Sinus floor elevation is a predictable procedure when placing implants in the
atrophic posterior maxilla. Several techniques were described in order to access the
maxillary antrum and safely elevate the sinus mucosa. Piezoelectric bone surgery is
currently considered a state-of-the-art tool when performing sinus floor elevations.
Because of their accurate micrometric and selective action, piezoelectric inserts
perform precise and safe bone cutting of the buccal sinus bone and prevent sinus
mucosa perforations.
During this course, we will review surgical anatomy and present radiographic
assessment advantages in order to detect anatomic risk factors and rule out

2 weeks prior to each meeting and for 3 weeks after. It is important that all ADIA registrants
provide their email address to the main ICOI office at icoi@dentalimplants.com. For onsite
registrants, the ADIA web address and password will be provided in the registration packet. In this
way, on site registrants can print the handouts at their hotel or wait until after the meeting.

ADIA Certification Courses Please Choose One Program.

Programs are conducted simultaneously in 4 different rooms.

Saturday, February 16, 2019 | 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
ADIA DENTAL HYGIENE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM (DHCP)©
YVA KHALIL
Registered dental hygienists are at the forefront of long term implant success. As healthcare
professionals, they are an integral part of the dental implant team providing indispensable oral
hygiene therapy, educating patients and implementing clinical protocols. The DHCP provides
evidence based training in co-diagnosis, treatment planning and patient assessment. The
program will provide attendees with the most current protocols for assessing clinical parameters
and techniques for the long-term maintenance and success of dental implants. The different
types of implant restorations and the elaboration of patient specific hygiene protocols will also
be discussed. Completion of the DHCP will provide the attendees with the knowledge and
confidence to provide their patients with the ultimate care in implant maintenance.

ADIA DENTAL ASSISTING CERTIFICATION PROGRAM (DACP)©
VAVI BOHBOT
Implant dentistry often involves long and complex procedures which sometimes create anxiety
for patients. An effective implant assistant must not only set up for the procedure but also
monitors the doctor’s and the patient’s needs throughout the procedure. A well-trained dental
implant assistant is crucial to the smooth operation of the implant procedure and also ensures
the patient’s comfort and well-being. The DACP provides an in-depth education in surgical and
prosthetic procedures, armamentarium, infection control, biologics and laboratory procedures.
Completion of the DACP will empower attendees with the knowledge and confidence to be an
indispensable member of the dental implant team and provide their doctors and patients with
the ultimate implant experience.

ADIA PRACTICE MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATION PROGRAM (PMCP)©
CHRISTINE UHEN
The smooth operation of a dental implant practice requires a strong and organized leader.
A well-trained and educated practice manager is essential to the health and growth of a practice.
The practice manager oversees the daily operation of the practice and must also lead the
practice in a direction that will increase profitability and reduce stress. The PMCP will review
and discuss creating an office culture, effective communication, conflict resolution, internal
and external marketing, tracking productivity and profitability as well as scheduling protocols.
Completion of the PMCP will empower attendees with the knowledge and confidence as well as
the techniques and protocols to successfully create a cohesive happy team, oversee a practice
and assure its continued stress-free operation and growth.

ADIA IMPLANT COORDINATOR CERTIFICATION PROGRAM (ICCP)©
KAREN YOUNG
Dental implants are one of the most successful treatment modalities in dentistry and the
demand for dental implants is growing exponentially. In order to successfully grow an implant
practice however, a well-trained implant coordinator is indispensable. Once the doctor has
diagnosed and treatment planned the patient, the implant coordinator holds the patient’s hand
through the entire dental implant process acting as their advocate. The implant coordinator
will educate the patient, explain in detail every step of the procedures, review and complete
all consent forms and financial arrangements and oversee the case to completion. The ICCP
provides an in-depth education in surgical and prosthetic procedures, case presentation,
communication skills and the oversight of all phases of an evolving implant case. Completion of
the ICCP will empower attendees with the knowledge and confidence to provide their patients
with the ultimate implant care while successfully growing an implant practice.

TABLETOP AND POSTER PRESENTATIONS
Thursday, February 14, 2019 | 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm
You don’t have to be a Main Podium speaker to participate in our symposium.
Why not plan to present a Tabletop and/or Poster presentation? A “proven training
ground” for future and current Main Podium speakers, the very popular Tabletop
and Poster competition will be held in tandem with our Welcome Reception in the
Exhibit Hall on Thursday from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. It allows presenters to interact with
colleagues in a social, yet instructive manner. Tabletop and Poster presentations
should display a challenging case or concept in a limited time format, i.e. 5-7
minutes, so that the case can be repeated as new observers gather. Poster
presentations will be placed (tacked or taped) on boards at the beginning of
the symposium and will remain on display throughout the symposium. Poster
presenters should be at their posters to answer inquiries during the Welcome
Reception. All presentations will be judged, with the winners receiving awards and
main podium consideration for future ICOI meetings.
REMEMBER, ALL FELLOWS, MASTERS AND DIPLOMATES WHO CONDUCT
TABLETOP OR POSTER PRESENTATIONS HELP FULFILL THEIR FIVE-YEAR
MAINTENANCE REQUIREMENTS.
Parties interested in conducting a Tabletop and/or Poster presentation must
contact the Chair for this competition, Dr. Avi Schetritt, to request an application.

Completed applications must be submitted by January 4, 2019.
