EMBRACE • EMPOWER • ELEVATE March 19, 2022 To our Current and Aspiring Women Leaders: I am extremely pleased and honored we are hosting this historic event, our first ever Women’s Leadership Conference! Since 1995, American Presidents have issued a series of annual proclamations designating the month of March as “Women’s History Month.” These proclamations celebrate the contributions women have made to the United States and recognize the specific achievements women have made over the course of American history in all fields. I believe the impact of women on the fields of education and educational leadership is immeasurable. Today, we take time to pause and celebrate you. In the spirit of our strategic plan, The Next Decade 2020-30, we are providing this forum where you can learn and grow together. My team has assembled a dynamic lineup of speakers and presenters to embrace, empower and elevate you as you continue to serve our children and families with distinction, and navigate the unique and myriad complexities that society has placed before you. As I have shared on many occasions, my own path in life has been guided by the strong women in my family as well as the women who have been my teachers, mentors and colleagues. To them and to all of you who will participate in today’s conference, I say, THANK YOU, and may your efforts continue to uplift the children of our beloved city of Newark.
