Early Cancer Diagnosis Will Soon Be A reality in Kenya WHO in 2018 did a study that noted Kenya has about 47,000 new cancer cases each year. Further, about 10 billion Kenya Shillings is spent annually on seeking cancer treatment in South Africa, India, and other foreign countries. The diagnosis of cancer is a family experience that negatively affects the lives of all members, causing stress to the family due to loss of income, treatment costs and travel costs. These effects are not only felt by the patient but also the caregivers. According to NHIF, 68% of families with cancer patients experience financial hardships with 53% of patients’ recovery affected by lack of funds The Integrated Molecular Imaging Centre (IMIC) and 6% of families selling assets to finance cancer care. first in a public facility in the country and the region.
