of the Color of Hope Gala and Will Golf 4 Kids Tournament, two phenomenal events that raise
funds for the Hematology and Oncology Department at Arkansas Children’s Northwest. Thanks to
generous supporters like you, these events have raised more than $18 million for children.
Due to COVID-19, the 2021 Will Golf 4 Kids Tournament will be a socially-distanced, in-person event
held on Thursday, August 5 and Friday, August 6 at Kingswood Golf Course and Bella Vista
Country Club. Then, on Saturday, August 7, get ready to Tailgate for Kids at this year’s Color of
Hope Gala, which, for the first time, will be hosted virtually.
You can choose to sponsor one or both events and receive a variety of great benefits. And, most
importantly, your generous sponsorship plays a critical role in improving child health. Because of the
support of the Northwest Arkansas community, Arkansas Children’s is providing care close to home at
Arkansas Children’s Northwest (ACNW), the region’s first and only pediatric hospital. Since the
hospital’s opening in 2018, children battling cancer in Northwest Arkansas have benefited from pediatric
cancer treatment at ACNW, saving countless trips to Central Arkansas for many families. Events like
these make this possible. We hope you find these events meaningful.

Even though we will not gather in-person for the
2021 Color of Hope Gala, we invite you to join us virtually
to Tailgate for Kids.
After the two-day, socially distanced Will Golf 4 Kids
Tournament, we’ll come together virtually on Saturday,
August 7 to kick off the upcoming fall sports season
with a tailgate-inspired evening. Whether you join us
from the comfort of your living room or a favorite
outdoor space, we hope you will support the life-saving
work of the Hematology and Oncology Department at
Arkansas Children’s Northwest.

Care Close to Home
Because of your generosity, more than 212,000 children have access to
specialized, pediatric healthcare close to home at the region’s first and
only children’s hospital—Arkansas Children’s Northwest. Children benefit
from a 24-hour pediatric emergency department, inpatient unit,
outpatient clinics and infusion center, and surgical services.
Expanded Pediatric Cancer Treatment
Your sponsorship promotes pediatric cancer awareness and expands the
hematology/oncology program at Arkansas Children's Northwest.
All funds raised from the golf tournament and gala support the addition
of a pediatric oncologist, nurses and support team members for the
program, and central monitoring systems in the inpatient unit.
Your investment also helps provide additional pharmacology services,
allowing the team to prepare more complex treatments and keep children
close to home throughout their cancer treatment.

Abigail & Kendryck
“The hardest part is the unknown.”
It’s hard to imagine the unknowns Alyssa Lewis has endured. In a
span of a year and a half, both of her children were diagnosed with cancer.
It began in May 2018 when Alyssa’s world was turned upside down.
After months of back pain and few answers, her then 8-year-old daughter
Abigail was referred to Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) where she
received a devastating diagnosis—cancer.
“The day we learned about Abigail’s diagnosis was a big day…a BIG day,”
says Alyssa. “It’s a jumble in my memory of: ‘This is what she has and this
is what we’re going to do next.’ We learned what a road map [comprehensive
care plan] is and how it works. And these are the chemo drugs she’s going to
be taking and these are some of the side effects. In other words—
‘You’re now a cancer parent.’”
Then, suddenly, her son Kendryck began to have unusual bruising. Alyssa,
unable to face the unbelievable, convinced herself the bruises, fatigue and
infections were normal for an active little boy enrolled in daycare.
But then Kendryck was admitted to Arkansas Children’s Northwest (ACNW)
for a severe respiratory infection. He was flown to ACH and admitted into the
pediatric intensive care unit for treatment and more testing. Then, in January
2019, the unthinkable happened…Alyssa’s 3-year-old son Kendryck also
received a devastating diagnosis—leukemia.

the position of the Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics at the
University of Arkansas. Jennifer, Hunter and their three sons have a
