Climate of Prague, Czech Republic: Guide for International Delegates The summer months bring the warmest weather with high temperatures around 21 to 23°C, but this time also brings a bit more rain. For the driest weather and mild temperatures, plan your visit in the second half of April or between mid- September and mid-October which tend to experience less precipitation and comfortable temperatures ranging from 14 to 19°C. Packing clothing that can be layered is recommended. In the morning, a warm sweater or jacket is usually necessary, but by afternoon, short sleeves and possibly shorts may be more appropriate. Transport within Prague, Czech Republic: Prague has one of the best public transportation systems in Europe. The metro, trams and buses are used by two-thirds of Prague’s population and cover the majority of the city and outskirts. The metro especially makes getting around town a breeze since it enables you to cover long distances in a matter of minutes. If you can’t continue to your destination on foot, you’ll be able to catch a tram or bus from near the subway station. We take public transport in Prague all the time. It is easy, reliable, and very affordable. The only times you may want to consider driving or taking a taxi are commute times. You will be stuck in traffic but you’ll avoid being crammed into a tram or metro car full to the brim with your fellow passengers. The best way to get around Prague is on foot or by public transportation. Exploring this city on foot is a treat for the eyes, plus many of the most noteworthy attractions are within walking distance of one another.
