Winter Festivities
at Lishman’s
We’re hoping everyone will enjoy special times with loved ones this Christmas, after a
long period of perhaps not spending enough time with our nearest and dearest. Your
continued support throughout the year really has meant a great deal to each and every
one of us, and we’ve loved seeing all those smiling faces behind the masks.
THE STORY SO FAR
Christmas 2020 presented us with quite a challenge and forced us to change our ‘normal’ ways
of operating; however, we were happy with how it worked and the feedback suggested that you
found it simpler and more efficient. We’ve decided to work with the same process this year to keep
everything safe and straightforward:
• Order collections will remain outside at the back of the shop
• We will offer a limited number of home deliveries
• We encourage you where possible to order online through our website.
Please get your orders in early to avoid disappointment as some products
have limited numbers. Scanning the QR code will take you to our order form.
As ever, we’ll always be on hand to help you with any queries, cooking dilemmas and so on!
As a butcher’s we’ve been fortunate that we’ve remained open throughout the past year. The
demand from wholesale & mail order customers for our Charcuterie & Salami has grown to the
point where we’ve now taken on a new unit in Skipton so we can mature larger quantities. The
surge in demand for home pizza ovens during the pandemic has definitely sparked a passion for
our pizza toppings amongst dedicated salami enthusiasts. And if you’re looking for a gift idea;
there’s one right there!
LONDON MARATHON
On Sunday 3rd October, Emma & Sarah-Jayne finally ran the
London Marathon for Cure Parkinson’s. Fuelled by pork pies they
ran the 26.2 miles in 4 hours 31 minutes, and with your donations
& from taking part in the raffle they have raised £5052.72 (at the
time of writing this brochure) which is fantastic – thank you all!

WHAT’S NEXT?
We have some exciting plans for the shop in 2022; a brand refresh & full shop refurbishment will
allow us to really show off the skills of our team, but we’re going to keep the finer details a surprise!
We’ll always focus on using local produce, keeping our food miles down and keeping our carbon
emissions low. Buying locally helps us retain control of animal welfare, as well as supporting our
farmers & the local economy. We’ve worked hard to improve our green credentials over the last few
years and are making further improvements to our current packaging to ensure that we lead by
example. We’re continuing to reduce our use of plastic & generally minimise our footprint. Integrity
is everything at Lishman’s and every aspect of the business is focused on ‘doing the right thing’ by
our farmers, our livestock, our environment, our team and our customers.
We are pleased to announce that Andrew & Joe have been introduced
as Partners in Lishmans of Ilkley, along with David & Emma. This is to
ensure continued growth & longevity of the business. Joe is our Shop
Manager (who you’ll all already know) & has been with us since his
apprenticeship. Andrew is our Production Manager; he’s generally hidden
away in our production unit but is highly qualified in butchery & curing.
What Andrew doesn’t know about charcuterie really isn’t worth knowing.
SEND A BIT O’ YORKSHIRE
As we mentioned earlier, our Charcuterie has been attracting a lot of love from
your family and friends: we’ve been sending our gift boxes of Charcuterie,
Bacons & Hams to them all over the UK. You can order everything online and
have it sent directly with a festive message. It shows a bit of creativity gift-wise,
and is the kind of thing that they can dive into over days, weeks and months.
We’ve got several boxes to choose from to satisfy all budgets and tastes so it’s worth scrolling
through to pick your favourite. Our top seller this year has been The Charcuterie Board; this box
contains oodles of our award-winning cured meats as well as olives, crackers and all the best nibbly
bits for a brilliant sharer board. If you want to spoil them rotten you can always opt for The Luxury
Ilkley Box which is guaranteed to provoke more than a few ‘ooohs’ and ‘aaahs’ when the recipients
clap eyes on the charcuterie, bacons, cheeses and beers held within!
For many of you, Christmas isn’t Christmas without a Lishman’s Ham. Delia bigged up our Enrik Blam
Ham as ‘The Rolls Royce of Hams’ last year; and our full range of hams is available to order online &
send throughout the UK. Only the luckiest carnivores get sent a gift box of proper Yorkshire treats eh?

Arrive on the correct date, within your selected time slot to
collect your order.

FOLLOW THE QUEUE SYSTEM
Follow the queue outside at the REAR of the shop, not inside the
shop. You may need an umbrella and warm clothes!
NEED EXTRAS THAT YOU DIDN’T ORDER?
Go to the front of the shop if you need to buy extras, or be
really smart and buy throughout December and freeze! We
have trimmings and game ready in advance. Look out for the 1 Dec
throughout the brochure!
If collecting only pies, please use our deli entrance rather than queuing at
the rear. There will be no hot sandwiches available on 21st, 22nd, 23rd &
24th Dec.
FRIDGE
Put everything in the fridge. Not your garage, greenhouse or
garden shed!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The most up to date prices are on our website, the prices in the brochure are a very good guide
and we’d recommend ordering early. The brochure was assembled in September when the prices
were correct. It is very difficult to price goods 3 months in advance in these strange times and we
may have to adjust these accordingly.
Only products contained on our order form can be ordered for a Christmas collection
Because of the quantity of handmade products we require, to meet Christmas demands, some of
the products have to be frozen prior to Christmas collection – see throughout the brochure
Terms and Conditions
Products: All weights in the brochure are approximate and we reserve the right to change suppliers and replace products with an equal or better
substitute if necessary.
Prices: Products and prices are correct at the time of going to print. We reserve the right to adjust prices if absolutely necessary.
Cancellations: Cancellations between 1st & 16th December will receive a 50% refund. There will be no refund available after 17th December.
Amendments: Amendments to orders will need to be processed as a second order on our website or discussed with a team member.
Fresh for you: Unless specified, all products ordered for Christmas collections will stay fresh until at least Boxing Day, while products for New Year will
stay fresh until at least 1st January 2022.

Our turkeys have been coming from Annabel, just 12 miles away, for the past
30 years. All of our turkeys come with giblets for that all-important gravy.

FREE RANGE HALF TURKEY
This semi boned half turkey will satisfy those who like both breast and leg
meat. We created this in 2020 for the pandemic Christmas when smaller
households were wanting to enjoy all the best of a large turkey, whilst
catering for a smaller gathering. We thought it was great and it’s a good
alternative to the boneless turkey breast.

2. April. We give Annabel an inkling of numbers in January, she will then let the hatchery know. We then
confirm our numbers in April and the turkeys will hatch between June and August. The turkeys go to
Annabel’s turkey farm as day old poults.

little more bite to their blue. At the World Cheese Awards held in
Bergamo Italy it won a Silver medal!
Cricket St Thomas Camembert 200g £5.90
This cheese is rich and creamy with a soft, edible white rind. A
British alternative to the famous French classic, with a notable
flavour difference which is the result of using Somerset milk. As the
cheese matures, the curd softens, and the cheese develops a fuller
flavour. So, if you like a stronger camembert taste, let it ripen slowly
in the fridge. This is a superb cheese made lovingly in Cricket St
Thomas, south Somerset.
