GREYHOUNDS AUSTRALASIA BACKGROUND Greyhounds Australasia (GA) comprises representatives from jurisdictional controlling bodies in Australian States and Territories and New Zealand. The charter for GA is to support these jurisdictions via encouragement of a national / regional approach to the Australasian greyhound racing industry. GA provides its stakeholders with value-added services and practices that support industry integrity, animal welfare and helps optimise returns ensuring a sustainable future for the industry. GA is the governing and national rules body for Greyhound Racing in ANZ ensuring effective regulations, integrity and success of the sport. GA’s role is to act on behalf of the whole sport, ensuring that the highest standards apply on and away from the race track. GA is committed to the very highest standard of sports governance. This ambition reflects GA’s unique set of regulatory responsibilities; including maximising the welfare of the animals and ensuring the sport is fair and free from corruption. WWW.GALTD.ORG.AU
GREYHOUNDS AUSTRALASIA STRATEGIC PLAN 2019-2021 Greyhounds Australasia (GA) has a strategic vision for the Greyhound Racing industry to be vibrant, sustainable and a recognised world-leader in animal welfare and racing integrity. Following a 2019 review and strategic planning process for 2019 – 2021 this will be achieved via 5 core pillars. WWW.GALTD.ORG.AU
ROLE OVERVIEW The CEO will report to the Chairman and Board of Directors and is responsible to lead and deliver the strategic plan. This is a key leadership position that will best promote and represent the interests of GA in the racing, government and wider communities. The CEO will ensure the highest standards of leadership for GA, commensurate with its role as the governing body for the sport within a framework of prudent and effective controls. The CEO role will require the highest level of integrity and transparency in promoting industry development and providing advice guidance and support to the Independent Chairman and Board. This is high profile role with significant responsibility, but with a small head office team it is important to note that it is ‘hands-on’ in delivery and proactive with all GA Partners. The CEO is the primary spokesperson for the organisation, acting as an Ambassador for Greyhound Racing and leading stakeholder management across all state and national governing bodies, media, government, wagering bodies, international racing authorities and in public relations and communication. The CEO is responsible for the day to day administration of GA, its core reporting requirements on behalf the industry as well as designing and implementing approved policy and leading the management of a number of commitees in addition to ad hoc projects – often with agency or consulting partners – for the improvement of the industry for all members and partners. GA is a National Governing Body and the CEO must recognise and respect the responsibilities of the State and Clubs / Tracks in the delivery of Racing. Importantly, this is forward looking role that will promote and support the Board and Member bodies and deliver on the 2019 Strategic Plan to renew and reinvigorate the industry. WWW.GALTD.ORG.AU

Leading robust financial control and commercial development. • Understand the priorities of the Racing and Wagering industry, • Manage significant projects that impact and support the development of best practice.
