What are the PIA Objec5ves ?: (a) To promote and protect the interest of Associa,on members. (b) To provide the Australian pump industry with the means of collec,ve representa,on to Government departments and other Industry bodies and the means to speak with one voice on maRers of importance to the industry. (c) To support the manufacturing of pumping equipment in Australia. (d) To support the export of pumps and pumping equipment from Australia. (e) To support the educa,on of technicians and engineers in pump technology. (f) To provide a forum for the exchange of knowledge on the technology and opera,on of pumps and pumping systems. (g) To collect, collate and circulate sta,s,cs and sta,s,cal informa,on on the industry. (h) To nominate members to Standards Australia commiRees and to follow and influence the development of overseas pumping standards. (i) To provide a forum for members to facilitate discussion of issues of mutual interest. (j) To liaise with groups and associa,ons with similar interests in Australia and overseas for the benefit of members.
How are we going to make these objec5ves happen in 2019 ? • Associa,on to review membership records to ensure the membership informa,on that is held on record is up to date. • Membership Survey. Clear understanding on what members really want from the Associa,on. • Execu,ve officers & Secretary posi,on. Key posi,ons to be updated and expressions of interest sort. • Introduce Digitalisa,on, such as live Streaming of AGM, E learning, LinkedIn, Facebook, Email Signatures for current Members i.e. (Member of Pump Industry associa,on) • Include Pool (Domes,c & Commercial), Irriga,on, Rural and Domes,c Sectors to PIA. • Formalisa,on of Selec,on, Sales and Installa,on qualifica,ons. Such as a generic VET qualifica,on. Transferable to all employee’s at all levels. Has acceptance with IAL, ABCB, Master Plumbers and Industry. • Con,nue with Energy Efficiency Seminars. • Addi,onal mee,ngs on changes to Standards. • Iden,fy poten,al speakers. (Who are a benefit to the members). • Scheduled Face to face mee,ngs in 2019.
How are we going to make these objec5ves happen in 2019 ? (Con5nued) • Con,nue market research ac,vi,es including Ibis World data updates to assess the size of the Australian market and levels of employment generated. • BeRer use of Website for communica,on, payments etc. • Con,nue to hold regular mee,ngs in the Capital Ci,es for the benefit of members • Con,nue to organise Seminars & workshops in Capital Ci,es on technical topics such as Energy Efficiency, Fire Pump installa,ons, general pump technology and to increase industry awareness of Australian capabili,es for pump equipment. • Por9olio’s allocated to each Councillor. • Promote training programs to service the needs of members, including the new PIA Installa,on & Commissioning course, promo,on of the BPMA and HI training programmes. • Ongoing Review of PIA publica,ons and upgrade as required. • Monitor, review and involvement as appropriate in pump related Australian Standards. • Develop & Maintain rela,onships with likeminded Associa,ons
